Thanks, all. Auto contact cement curing as we speak. We'll see if it holds....

If not I'll see it someone in town can do rivets. Extreme, but cheaper than a new seat.

Not a Ural question but you folks are better at general fixes than other forums.

So my Spring-Fall bike is a Royal Enfield Classic ('15). You'd think a manufacturer in India could come up with an adhesive that would handle heat and humidity, but you'd be wrong. Last summer the vinyl cover on my seat started coming loose. According to the folks on the seemingly defunct classic mo...

Re: Not really an oil thread - oil adjacent

Who did it up before? And do they need a good whipping... Not the first time I've heard of this, WHY do people do up drain plugs so tight? :o Why do they think they're going to come undone and drop off otherwise? No kidding. Problem is he's 300 miles away. There's a Ural dealer between us (coincide...

Almost time to upgrade to a deep sump? :P
She's got a deep sump already. Tempted to swap it the the stock sump previous owner gave me when he bought it. Had to get it up on the center stand to get the drain pan and wrench underneath at the same time.

Not really an oil thread - oil adjacent

Finally getting around to changing the oil and the drain plug is stuck - so much so that I can feel burrs where the head is stripping a bit when the wrench gives way. Any suggestions? Oh, and having heard about things threaded backwards on parts of the bike, I checked the spare stock sump pan I have...

Re: So where do I start troubleshooting?

Update: I'm not a bright boy. Put on Hippo Hands back in December, hadn't even looked at the brake fluid reservoir since then. Funny how hydraulics don't work without fluid. Braking restored; will order some new pads and see how much damage I did riding the brakes for four miles.

So where do I start troubleshooting?

This morning on the way in to work I noticed the front brakes on my 2007 were really hard to pull. Didn't think much of it. On the way home, despite the great weather, the bike seemed kind of sluggish. When I got to a stoplight, something smelled hot. Getting ready to pull into my neighborhood, went...

codemokkey - I live off Route 66 coming out of St. Louis County - I ride a portion of the blacktop for weekwend morning excursions as much as possible - would like to head North on 66 into IL - there is a diner near Litchfield if I am not mistaken that has pretty good food....are you aware of any o...

Re: Missouri rally in 2019? At my farm/ranch "Zen of Oz"

mattzahr, You can do a quick and dirty back road estimate by using Google Maps and optioning to No Highways. According to it, I am 550 miles from Branson but that is only 30 or so miles further than the freeway so it seems like more fun. Bonus points, depending where you're coming from a decent por...

Oh fine, I finally get comfortable with leaning down to get at the shifter and you guys go and come up with what sounds like a better product. I'll get a photo of my 2007 posted tomorrow.

Beautiful dogs. Still trying to convince my 12 year old girl it's not going to kill her. She'll sit in it when it's idling, but as soon as I give it throttle, she bolts. Not going to strap in her harness until I'm sure she's staying seated voluntarily. https://i.imgur.com/v0ZjPWw_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&...

Re: New Year's Eve prank

You need an Uber accomplice. Let them call you when they get a call so you can show up 2 minutes early to explain your car broke down but you are dedicated to getting them where they need to go. When the real Uber arrives he can get out and yell at you as you speed away and they can explain some nu...

New Year's Eve prank

So I had a bright idea, which was unfortunately thwarted by freezing rain and the mind-numbing boredom of being in a college town during winter break. I found out that anyone can buy an Uber dome light off of Amazon for $22. So I ordered one. https://i.redd.it/4cu45ed4ep721.png My plan was to cruise...

Bienvenue, but I must say your post seems like what happens when Google Translate gets drunk and goes to bed early. Must have brooms in its head as well.

So is Vetter still around? I see them selling some stuff like decals and parts for the old vetter fairings.
Found this about him. Apparently had a major accident with a deer in 2015 and has been recovering since.
