Hey Jeff,

From your photo, it looks like you may have some switch guts
Yes definitely looks like a plastic thing which has had a bit cut or broken off.

Re: New Owner just bought a 2018 Gear Up

Took me about 4 months to feel like I'm starting to get the hang of it.

I forgot a couple. :D
Road slopes left: rig wants to run off to the left.
Road slopes right: rig wants to run off to the right.

That can cause the odd problem if either is counter to the direction of a bend!

Re: New Owner just bought a 2018 Gear Up

On a dead FLAT road, no sloping left or right (known as camber), no hill, up or down, constant steady speed, not accelerating or decelerating or braking, the rig should go straight without any noticeable input required from you on the handlebars. If that's not the case then yes the alignment is off....

Re: New to wrenchin' on this thing!

Just a thought, it's just possible the air filter housing has let some water in. Can be a bit of an issue with the old "biscuit tin" metal air cleaners.

Re: Mean Time For Replacement of Key Parts

Just to prove we are all different – :D At 20,000 km + 2016 CT 1. Front tire – still original 2. Drive/rear tire – 18,000 km (Heidenau K28, 18") 3. Sidecar tire – still original 4.Front brake pads – probably now on third set. Stock was replaced with EBC semi sintered. Then those changed out because ...

Re: Tactical Backpack at Cheap Price

Maybe I should mention many bikers wear a backpack / rucksack, that's why it might be construed as a motorcycle accessory. :D

That looks like a big mutha tho? :o

Re: Relive the ground off light switch.

My actual switch part was removed at the factory. I have the cover plate that everyone talks about, but it clips in (instead of being glued on). So mine is probably a lost cause without $$$. Oh well. Or, can add a switch quite cheaply. This is my headlight switch. - Headlamp mod-008.jpg - Also gave...

Re: How to apply Fluid Film?

I use ACF50, but if similar, spray it on direct. Also do all the fender weld seams where the valences (correct word?) are welded on. Run a bead along each groove and make sure it soaks in all the way. Altho I have mats in the tub, I spray ACF50 on the floor, good and wet, just let it air / dry for a...

Re: Intro: New Ural Owner in PA

I really like this quote I saw posted on FB, which so far seems spot on 😂 Like driving a riding lawnmower with a broken front wheel, turns one way different than it does the other. Feel like you be toolin' down the block a top a grand piano and everybody looks at you in wonder as you go by. First 5...

Re: Relive the ground off light switch.

My 2018 didn't even have the internal parts, if memory is correct Chad's 2014 had the core parts hidden behind the blocker plate. Ditto, my plate came off once just a big heap of nuthin behind the slot :o (2016 CT) Dang, until the last post revealed all, I was trying to make "ground" and the topic ...
