Re: Baja no pinch tool question

Not got one but my dealer has, have twice "assisted" while changing inner tubes, for removing, no, used just tire irons; replacing, yes, as said above, it pushes the bead over the rim, that's all it does. Does not remove.

Is there a "ghost" neutral between ... 3rd and 4th
Yes there is, I've had it! So looks like it's only going from 4th to in between 4th - 3rd, i.e. the false neutral there. Reverse will not shift because is not the true neutral.

Re: 7.6 gallon fuel tank

The old 650 tanks (and the first 750 as well) had a mount lash on each sides for the rear mounting. They were mounted with rubber discs und bolts. the tank always tore there, I remember from Carla King's book (1995) she lost two tanks like that, maybe three! Fimally they (Ural) put one together tha...

Just for the record, I nearly always get around 41 mpg (US), altho I usually budget for 37. Pretty sure I recently saw 45 once! :o

Re: So i bought a Ural.

Well, of course the throttle tube on the right side requires a larger i.d. of the grip . . . Isn't every bike like that? Maybe not ... but is one of those things you assume everybody already knows – I forget, then next time I see it I'm like oh yeah, 'course it would be .. http://livinginthepast-au...

Job #2 – try to waterproof the cable plug. Having had this problem before, since it was last used it has been wrapped in a plastic bag which in turn was secured with elastic bands, and it was still soaking wet! How the freaking hell is it getting in???! :-x The plug is simple consisting of two plast...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

 Not to the Ural but to the tow-behind trailer ... Job #1 – attach trailer plate it's a bit like a VIN plate, trailers have to have a plate that at least shows the unladen weight. Not I think that anyone is much bothered and it hasn't had anything of the sort for two years, but I wanted to, and...
