Re: What's the max timing advance on the ElectroJet and Keihin bikes?

If I had thought of it before converting, I was just gonna mark TDC with a sharpie on the flywheel and the take the timing gun and crank it up will the sharpie was in the hole. I think TDC is just past the skipped teeth (larger groove), Darryl had a video on how to find it (I use the F2 method for v...

Re: 2003: 750 Engine and Gearbox Overhaul

Is your 2003 a CSMI era engine or an IMWA era engine? What upgrades have you already done? Denso? Ducati? How big a money pit do your want to get into? 2008+ cylinder heads might be something to avoid, their spring tension may be better for the cases machined for the camshaft needle bearing vs the p...

Re: Sahara, possible purchase - What should I know?

Sahara availability - If I have to wait, what’s the likely normal time frame before it arrives? The Ural factory in Irbit was closed for a while due to COVID. https://www.imz-ural.com/blog It was not uncommon pre-COVID for a Ural to take several months from the time it was ordered. With COVID inter...

Re: Spark Plugs

Interesting they went back to a colder plug, guess it matches the leaner air fuel with advanced timing theory.

FYI, an E3.32 covers both sizes. Couldn't find a matching Pulstar.

Fun video comparing some spark plugs, that doesn't seem marketing driven, is at https://youtu.be/jcVF3xL_fzk?t=740

Re: Epic dashboard for 2020 Gear Up!

Hey Chad, If you get the M2Boxer, it can synch with a phone running MSDroid. You can customize the display to show all sorts of stuff. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/PQrrzcLRPotzEf_mBd_PxeDtwEMiu8IS4zO1y2n29TZtH8BRPIjVHppdd_bmUlRNRg=w412-h220-rw https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pbf4Y-yTnNw/maxresdefault.jpg

The wiring diagram for a stock 2013 is at: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/58c1ef5abf629ab8bade3657/t/58c8409259cc68a6d756d1e6/1489519331730/2013+-+2008+Wiring+Diagram.pdf Dave probably modified his bike, but the buzzing under the tank could be the 20 amp fuse that goes from the battery to th...

Re: Parts interchangeability

That makes it clearer, and supports what they told me about the Gen 2 kit producing around 1 HP more than a stock 2019 because it retains the Delphi pump that runs at higher pressure which in effect richens the fuel delivery even though it uses the same map. I think I'm starting to understand the 2...

Re: Parts interchangeability

Interesting question beyond my knowledge. I suppose the question is if it's possible to richen up the mixture to get the same cooling benefits without loosing the power gain the EFI system is capable of providing. https://x-engineer.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Engine-power-and-fuel-consumption-f...

Re: Parts interchangeability

On the cooler engine side of things, I'm wondering if my ability to map the M2Boxer EFI based on engine temperatures would result in a cooler running engine than the 2020 with the Keihin. I'm not limited to the EPA map, dunno if there is an offroad map on the Keihin or if it's having to burn hot to ...

Re: Parts interchangeability

...can sustain high speed, high load running conditions with much less risk as they dissipate heat better. What's the head temperature difference between the stock 2018 and the modified 2020? Is it a 1 degree temperature reduction, a 2 degree reduction? Do we know if there are publishable metrics d...

Re: Parts interchangeability

Is it possible to "bolt on" the piston, cylinders, heads, and all associated hardware from the 2020 engine, to a 2015? Yep. The stock 2015 outfitted with the Keihin will have more power than a 2020 engine. 2020 modifications are to meet stricter EPA, not increase performance. The 2020 gives you inc...

What's the max timing advance on the ElectroJet and Keihin bikes?

I believe the Ducati ignition has a max advance of 22 degrees (18 degrees advance on the timing mark which is 4 degrees advanced from TDC). Does anyone have the max advance for the Electrojet and Keihin bikes? I'm setting up the timing for the M2Boxer, it's default seems aggressive. I've tweaked the...

Re: 2019 Tacho wiring?

Just wondering what you mean by the speedo being locked? Do you still have the regular functions: trip, volts, clock etc? 2018 speedometer lets you change tire size, tach input, background color, background brightness, rev limiter rpm flash/ color. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/58c1ef5abf629...

Re: LCD display stays on

Is the always on new or did it just start to happen? Did the speedometer failure also just happen or has it been that way for a while? The speedo not working and the LCD still on, they are caused by different things. Key removed can still happen in Park which will still leave some stuff on, but if e...
