Re: 2019 engine light fault codes.

If Heindl’s procedure (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PlGDH1bwBYg ) doesn’t work, just do this: turn The ignition key on and put the kill switch in “run” position; then turn the ignition off and then on three times; MIL light should now be off for as long as the ignition remains on. .... you’ll pro...

Re: How to make a 2017 and up tachometer functional.

From my wiring diagram it looks like the Blue/Red (comes off a 15a fuse) is a hot and the ECU grounds the circuit via the Blue/Orange I just did this mod for my 2019 GU, hooking up the Blue/Orange wire, via a posi-tap connector. ‘Twas a very simple mod to make, which didn’t require removing the tan...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I haven't pulled the tank so I can run the wires along the frame backbone. I was able to run wires from the battery to the headlight bucket quite easily without completely pulling the tank. I simply removed the front bolt which secures the tank, shifted the tank rearward has in order to free up the...

Re: Transmission Dipstick

I replaced my 2019 “new improved” tranny dipstick with one of the old style magnetized fill plugs, which always picked up more swarf than the drain plug....a much more valued feature than a dipstick IMHO. It’s simple enough (and has been for all previous year Urals) just to fill the tranny up to the...

Re: 2019 engine light fault codes.

You might check to see if the small rubber grommet on one or the other the throttle bodies which the throttle cable runs through has come loose and is jamming the throttle linkage. The grommet can be done without, IMHO.. This must be what was wrong with mine when I bought it. Any chance you can tak...

Re: 2019 engine light fault codes.

Great to know, thanks. Does anybody know what the OBDII connector type is on the 19's ?...my MIL comes and goes, was thinking it would be great to hook it up to a reader. See this thread, in which Windmill details making the proper dongle for connecting an OBD reader to the Gen 2 efi. It’s really s...

The 3rd and 4th photos are correct. In these photos, ground is green, pin 4 -> 2; battery is red, pin 16 -> 4; k-line is black, pin 7 -> 6.

Re: 2019 & up OBD

Well. Windmill,....success! I had been interpreting your photos to indicate that the ground wire was to connect at position 6 in the Diagnostic Port Connector, whereas it’s supposed to be at position 2, as per the electrical diagram in the manual. I switched the wires around so that they’re now in t...

Re: 2019 & up OBD

Ummm, at this point its not a question of what app will work. Since i can’t get the iPhone to connect to the wifi BAFX code
Reader when its connected to my 2019 Ural. It does make rhe wifi connection okay when the reader is plugged i to my car, however.

Re: 2019 & up OBD

I have a BAFX wifi code reader which has worked fine on my iPhone XR, using The Fusion OBD app....that is, it works fine with my Car. However, using the pin settings that Windmill describes (4, 7, and 16), the reader won’t show up on my iPhone’s list of network devices.

Any ideas?
