That DOES sounds a bit more higer-pitched than you typically hear from one of these things, Mike.

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

I bought some Evapo-rust to see how effective it would be on some of my rusty Ural parts. As a preliminary test, I tossed some random rusty bits in a tub, poured in the rust remover, and I'll leave it sit for a day.

What'choo fellers think is the most efficient way to remove the rear crankshaft bearing? Cut off the outer race with a Dremel, then pop-off the inner race with a gear-puller? 🤔

I'm open to suggestions.

Re: For Sale - Denso Alternator

Chad. You got a job in the Shipyard?! ;-) Not quite. Northrop Grumman Charlottesville produces items FOR the shipyards: gyroscopes, ship's helms, propulsion management systems, the hydraulic steering package for the DDG's, et cetera . The building even has an awesome anechoic chamber for testing an...

Re: For Sale - Denso Alternator

I can hear someone in the background asking, “What! You need another Ural part like a hole in the head.”
Now that I got the Northrop Grumman job, that voice is much more quiet.

How is it Chad's reply to my query is using my log in when I was not even here ? .

I'm going to go lengthen the ear flaps on my tin foil hat .
Whoa, that's weird! I probably unintentionally misused my Impressive Moderator Powers. Oops!

Re: Front fork alignment

I'm curious as to what is involved in a rebuild of a leading link fork. I understand servicing the shocks, but what did you do to the rest of the structure? Also, when I disassembled, repainted, and reassembled the leading link forks on my 1999, I performed no alignment, but my ignorance of any esta...

Re: 2020 Special Edition Sui-sidecar.

this is the main idea of my "Predator" and how it came to be, the meanest, ugliest, most hard core Ural that I know of.
Anyone ever buy the Predator off of you or is it still for sale?

Re: Replacing Head Gasket

I really don't want to have to remove the sidecar to work on that side. No need for all that bother. Simply remove two of the sidecar support strut bolts and loosen the other two, then you can simply lean the bike away from the hack, which provides enough room to remove the head. 2020-04-05 20.17.2...

Today, I chose to clean-up the abandoned 650 motor I got from BigJames ' friend, so that it will be at the same state of readiness as the other engines that I need to overhaul. 2020-04-05 17.44.31.jpg 2020-04-05 16.55.37.jpg 2020-04-05 16.55.08.jpg 2020-04-05 17.40.30.jpg 2020-04-05 17.39.58.jpg 202...

Do you have the “Amish Mafia” building your new garage?
Naw, they're not prevalent in my area. I just found a contractor named Doug and a few members of his family.

Re: WTB Stainless Rear Fender Clip

Just out of curiosity, do you know if Ural actually produced these in stainless steel? I've only seen them painted or chromed (and the chrome was amazingly difficult to remove).
