It could also be contamination on the solenoid contacts. If you hear a very audible click near the starter but it doesn’t “turn over” press the starter button several times in rapid succession and that may shake the contamination off of the contacts. My 2015 had a similar issue that was contaminatio...

Hi NJTim, thanks for this feedback! Yes, we have received some other requests for seatbacks but yours is about the first request for a windshield. We'll certainly take a look and post here and on our design feedback group https://www.facebook.com/groups/362150741181971 with updates... My offer stil...

Re: Birthday Ural Shop Poll: Help me pick!

I have a set of Ural winter gloves that I’m looking forward to trying this winter. How do they feel? Do they provide more dexterity than a regular winter glove? I have just been using a snow glove, and my hand kind of slips in the glove when twisting the throttle. The dexterity is pretty good for a...

Re: Quick detach windshield mount.

Burt1713, Can you try filling the tube with sand and plugging the ends and then bending. That might help the tube retain the shape and prevent collapsing. It might also help if the outside of the tube where it moves against the hand bender has lubrication like a 30 weight motor oil. Best, Jeff The ...

Re: Open face helmet, or full face ....

+1 on full face. If I remember correctly there was a study that determined approximately 45% of impacts struck the chin bar/face shield area of a helmet, meaning an open face helmet is only 55% effective. Google Hurt report helmet diagram. That illustration from Dr. Hurt’s (real name) 1974(?) study...

Re: Quick detach windshield mount.

Burt1713, I'm curious about the bending issues. Can you share a bit more and include the size of the tubing and what is happening when you try to bend it? Might also be helpful to know the angle(s) of the bend(s) and the method(s) you have been using without good results. Thanks and best, Jeff The ...

Quick detach windshield mount. Construction problems.

I have been trying to build windshield mounts, but have been having about a 10% success rate bending the tubing. I don’t think I have the metal fabrication skills required to mass produce these. If anyone wants to try to build one for themselves or build them to sell I will give you as much informat...

If you have a lot of trees with low branches a zero turn mower with the deck out in front of the body can be very handy.

Re: What causes automatic timing advance?

I don’t know on a Ural for sure, but most electronic ignition modules have a preprogrammed advance curve based on rpm. Some modules have sensors for vacuum to adjust the timing for engine load as well.

Southern. Grew up out Hwy 46, west of Columbus (toward Brown County). Several of my friends went to VU (oldest institution of higher learning in the Northwest Territory when founded in 1801). I found the bridge one weekend back in 72-73.
I graduated VU in 1990.
