Likin' were you're headed with this. Are you going to build a springer, or a girder? Lookin' like girder from the lower clamp detail. I saw this for the first time yesterday. Narrowed fat bobs. Might try that with the Sporty tank (you'd have about a quart capacity afterwards)... kinda like the look ...

Love the Sportster tank.
I'm more of a fat bobber type, makes everything look lower and fill in the open space above the engine. But not MY putt.

What bars will go on this scooter Burt? Drags, I'm guessing.

... less expensive than investing in modern vacuum casting molds & process equipment to reduce casting porosity.

That's a lot of extra work to stop a possible oil leak. Then again, since they went to the trouble, oil leaks must have been more than 'possible'.

A friend of mine has this DMC rig on this BMW. Much like the old "Trim Grip" on Vetter Terraplanes (based on the earlier Steib set up) you can adjust the tracking of the rig down the road; raising, or lowering, the ride height of the chair is basically the same as increasing/decreasing lean-out. I was going to add that 'corrosion treatment' should not include using a wire wheel; it blows off and protective plating on the studs. But given having taken a second look at the surrounding hardware I don't think it will make much difference. CM.
