DGR May 2021

Here's an excerpt from an email received this morning: "The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride from 2021 will permanently move to May, with the next ride being held on Sunday, May 23, 2021. The new May date will open up the riding season for many of our dapper folks in the Northern Hemisphere, and those...

Re: Sumthin' I've been noticin' lately

The vast majority of any forum consist of 3 parts. The ones who buys older because of budget & fixes up with a lot of questions. The ones who buys new & uses the dealer for repairs & has no knowledge of serious repairs. Then you have the middle who are the knowledgeable ones with years of experienc...

Re: Thinking about the Ural

I need to feel the clunking and shuddering of my old bike. Maybe a Ural is the answer for me. One thing for sure is that a new electric motorcycle, like a Zero, is not the answer for you. Who knows how long before Ural goes all electric. Better get one before they don't clunk, shudder and squeak an...

Congratulations from Florida! I love that paint scheme! I'm a brand newbie too and am also finding 20-40 mph the perfect range for now.

What to call it? Since it looks like you are intimately familiar with the L-39, why not call it The Albatross?

Re: Broke out old warhorse for the Fourth: 92FS

Hi Lew,
Yes, I just fit, filed, fit, filed, and about 10 minutes later it was good. No bluing stuff used.

I've tried to respond to this 2 times but keep getting Bad Gateway when I hit submit. Let's see if a third time works. Each answer gets shorter. :)

A picture is worth a thousand words. The part that isn't black? That part. Here it is before being slid all the way on to the rail. The last 3/8".

Re: Broke out old warhorse for the Fourth: 92FS

"Hmmmmmmmm... I've been considering this myself, but have been a bit hesitant. I've heard that some filing/fitting is necessary. Did you experience this?" Yes. It did take just a slight bit of filing to get it to slide on better. And the price made me pause thinking I could just get a Ruger Mark IV ...

Re: Broke out old warhorse for the Fourth: 92FS

CZ-75SA That's funny that there are so many here that like the CZ's when most people elsewhere have never considered one. I don't want to bash any manufacturers so I'll just say I've purchased some others and ended up not keeping them, tried others and didn't want to own. The CZ I will never get rid...

The white wall Shinkos are what Ural of New England has on their website for Retros and cT as they only come in 18".
