Re: Of Mice and Moles 2020

I use the tomcat rat trap and glue a pistachio nut in the bait container. With the nut glued in the rat has to pull enough to trip it. We don't have a cat and our neighbours cats are a bunch of neutered socialist liberal pansies. So far a dead rat every 2nd day now. Irish Spring soap will only attra...

Re: Any British Expats here in the States?

... in Canada Ah the British diet and suet. Commercial brand Atora has vegetable (green box) and beef (blue box) versions. I prefer the blue, but the green is good. https://www.amazon.com/s?k=atora+suet&crid=3IR6IMNJESUJT&sprefix=Atora%2Caps%2C238&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_5 A good food store or butcher wil...

Re: I saw a pig fly - neutral light

Mine too Dan, but mine has been working for 8 years, so I win, and I don't have a colon. If only your shoulder was as reliable as your neutral light we would be travelling URAL stylee and I could irritate you the whole day long with my victories ... And lack of colon. John's light of course works a...

Re: Greetings from Vancouver Island (south end)

agree with the signal light.... me thinks I will remove the bulb. You may want to reconsider removing just the bulb. If a light is on a vehicle it must work or you can get a ticket, if it's not there that issue shouldn't arise. What Dan says. He is our resident traffic laws expert. He also knows lo...

Re: Afternoon in the shop.

Nice neat job, Hal. I did something similar with my B6100 DT . I used 2 x 2 angle iron and load binders to hold them in place. It worked great for moving rails and brush. I havent tried to pick up the ural yet which I doubt it could do

Re: Fixing up an old air compressor.

Most if not all of those tanks were made to the minimum thickness required by Boiler and Pressure Vessels Act. In other words there was no factor of safety built in.With even one spot that is pitted it is dangerous to use. Make a lawn ornament out of the whole thing.

Re: BMW conversion to Ural/Dnepr

I bought a 1969 R60/2 in pieces from this guy many years ago when he lived in Alberta . He was putting /5 and /6 drive trains in /2 frames among other things. I guess anything is possible if you throw enough time, energy and money at it.

Although I can offer neither advice nor humour to this thread I foresee a new tool in your arsenal . At our maintenance times on our trips internal engine inspections could be done. Just a thought now that spending has been approved.
