Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
IMG_0310 (1).jpeg Finally got around to getting the Enduro bench seat. Arrived yesterday and mounted up today. The two rear bolts fit perfectly neatly. The front mount bolt required a little finagling. The seat came with a 14mm post that dropped down to a 10 mm threaded portion and a spacer. Issue ...

Re: Front brake tie rod as cause of front end noise...
The caliper shouldn’t move fore and aft — they’re tricky to tighten, but it does sound like your torque arm has loosened up. Fix that if you can. After that you might check for loose steering head bearings. Not a problem I’ve seen on a Ural so far, but it’s not uncommon on other motorcycles. Best w...

Re: Front brake tie rod as cause of front end noise...
Check what I did this morning: https://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=22513&p=728389#p728389 That noise could be coming from the "Reactive link bar" and bushing. This eBay link looks a lot like what UralNE.com is feeling as the updated part for mine. But the pictures are hard to c...

Re: Wheel compatibility over the years?
Looking at some parts diagrams, they use the same brake rotor and axle. The wheel assembly #s are different. Looks like the innards of the hub is different. Given that its the same brake rotor and axle, I'd say it's pretty likely to fit. Front wheel swaps are fairly easy, so I vote for give it a go ...

Front brake tie rod as cause of front end noise... Solved!
I have a 2013 GU and I've been trouble shooting some front end noise. It a cross between and clunk and a bonk - how's that for useful? It only appears when hitting a bump with the front wheel. Speed doesn't seem to matter much. Road handling seems normal to me - this is my only Ural. Undulating road...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
Pulled the final drive, greased some splines and the all the u joints. Tried multiple times to get the drive shaft joint with the needle adapter. Just can't make it go... On the bright side, pulling the rear drive wasn't that big of a deal.

Re: LED headlight recomendation please
I have a '13 GU and here's what worked for me: The cyclops H4 for my main headlight. https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/Cyclops-100-H4-LED-headlight-bulb_p_192.html For the hack, I found a Hella lens that would fit into the stock shell that takes an H4 bulb too. Sorry don't have a link for that ...

went for an 80km (50 mile) ride to test out the new tachometer installation. the speedo is gps so no wandering needle. the tach runs off of the ignition wire. pulled out the old tach cable. turned a small plastic cap from some oil resistant UHMW plastic and used a collar form the original cable to h...

Re: Convert '06 to LED?
I have a 2013, got the kit from Ural NE and am pleased with it. I bet they'd be able to help you with your rig. You could always just change the headlight/taillight to LED. Think most of the complications come into it when blinkers are involved - you'll need LED blinker fluid instead of halogen!

I have one of these. Best upgrade for my 2013 GU. I've never used the stock hydraulic damper, but this gizmo is head and shoulders above the stock friction damper. Short answer, just get one!

I stumbled across the Dirt Daze website just a few days ago and thought to myself: "Someone on soviet steeds has been to this!" I'm glad to here it's a worthwhile trip as I'm thinking about a longer trip next summer. I'm leaving central NL, Canada and heading to Windsor, ON. I usually look for a ral...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?
Today, I rode it! Yesterday was accessory day. Installed the R3W steering damper, quality looking unit. Can't wait to see how it performs. Also, my Cyclops Adventure Sports light arrived in the mail. 7000 lumens out of a H4 sized bulb. Brighter than halogen (3-4x ish) and a crisp cut off for low bea...

Re: 2013 GU charging light - fixed
Well, removing the fuel tank allowed access to the alternator wiring. cleaning the connections seems to have settled this issue. If it recurs, I'll let you know. Interestingly, it recurred after a proper test ride - ie gravel road. :x Repeat the disassembly and I found an abraded wire! I'm sure I c...

Re: f***stone 4x19 tires
I ordered 4 Fuckstone Tires for $368.00. I had to I'm from Akron, Ohio former home of Firestone Tire. I want to drive around Akron on my Fuckstone tires. Are we having fun yet :) I'd love to see some pics of those! I'm also curious about mileage on the pusher. If they're good, we could make them a ...
