Re: My Dnepr MT-11 Story

I’ve been following this thread, good job !
As for wrong perhaps I would run the fuel line on the aft side of the throttle cable .Also I would position my spark plug cap and wire so it doesn’t lay on the hot head fins .
Wrong is such a harsh word.

Just remember that it’s “rightie tightie. Leftie loosie “ except for the front axle. Learn to use the search function on this very forum And you will be fine. This is a worldwide site and somewhere in some godforsaken middle of nowhere place someone has broken their bike in the exact same way that y...

Re: Passing the hat 2020 - Server rent is due again!!!

Hey John, thanks for the wondrous , useful ,yet somehow twisted site. They say you have to be crazy to own a side car, and even crazier if it’s Russian, and totally insane if you want to wrangle all of us. I am in.

Re: 2005 Patrol - dead battery - rear fender method

I’ve had batteries in and out of my 2005 GearUp many times with no trouble, and I’ve never had the rear fender off for any reason. Remove the air filter housing, starter, and tie down the kicker, remove battery. You must be missing something. How did you put it in there? Happy trails, Jaybird Exact...

Re: Best Tune for Hot Running?

I'm also putting one in the 2013 as part of my major overhall. Cam is a 650 cam that's had the end machined to accept the needle bearings of the 2010 and up bikes. 2009 and older may be able to accept an unmodified 650 cam, dunno. My understanding is 650 cam has lower lift and duration. Google will...

Re: pinion bevel gear lash setting

Can anybody confirm on an MT-16 that turning the pinion results in sidecar output turning first and that is what I am hearing on start up, like a lag and a clunk. My rig is powered by an electric motor so it is completely quiet and I hear everything. I am sorry I don’t have any advice on your final...

Re: ethanol question

I graduated with a minor in chemistry. As impressive as that might sound, I should note that the Periodic Table had only 8 elements when I was in school. We also spent much of our time in Alchemy lab searching for the Elixir of Immortality and converting lead into gold. So, all that expensive educa...

pure-gas.org This is the site that has a list of gas stations in your state or any state. Canada too! I printed a list of the 192 gas stations in Oregon that have non-ethanol gas. I keep it in my trunk. Edit : there is also a couple of apps available for this site. Also they give a GPS location for...

Re: service manual for 2013 tourist

When I bought my 2013 gear up from Raceway in May 2013, the dealer ( the late Jim Petti ,RIP ) told me that my rig had the 650cc cam that would be on the 2014 models. Also, My rig came with the 2014 2 Wheel drive final drive . The one with the lower and more outboard breather. I see that you have a ...

Re: Right Side Valve Clearance Clearance

I work on my right hand valves and carburetors from the bottom ,laying on my back. I enter from under the nose of the Sidecar. A plus is, if you have carburetors, you can see what’s up with your jets without pulling your carbs. Just a habit that I picked up from having so many cars and trucks from t...
