Re: Vanity Plates

I've seen "BOKAD" on a Ural vanity plate before. Almost certainly a reference to the infamous "why you should not buy a Ural" thread on the advrider forum.

Re: How would I go about hardening my Ural from an EMP?

I know this is an old post, but I was looking through the threads and came across it. 1. An EMP airburst, or more likely 2, one on each coast, is going to take out America's electrical grid. It's not hardened, and the heavy infrastructure to replace power stations isn't in place (road, rail, etc.) I...

Tagging other members in a post

On many forums, you can 'tag' other members in your post, by typing an '@' in front of their username. For example: @PLANofMAN. This sends a notification to your notification inbox saying something like, "xxxx tagged you in a post." It's useful when you want to summon a member to look at a thread th...

Re: Engine seized starting point help?

Not sure what is in that MMO BUT HOLY COW IT WORKS! I had some stuck lifters on my diesel truck. Added MMO to my fuel and blew a crap ton of carbon out of my stack. Thought I blew a rod for a minute, with the amount of noise it made. Unstuck the lifters too. I'm a firm believer that MMO is the best...

Re: R3W Quick Detach windshield mount video.

Does this require permanent modifications to the windshield itself, or is this just a mounting system for the existing windshield?

I guess what I'm asking is, will we need to send in a windshield for modification, or will it be sold as a "Quick Release Bracket + Parts" setup?

Re: rabbit ear rear view !

interesting, never in 60 years of riding have i seen mirrors attached to the head light bucket. learn something new every day! I think there are some Ural owners here that have Alberts (very hard to find originals) or the less expensive Bumm's (Blue Moon has them) on their headlight buckets. They i...

Re: rabbit ear rear view !

My father used modified dental mirrors for his Triumph, back in the 60's. He considered mirrors useless on motorcycles, as he couldn't see anything in them anyway from the road vibration. He got pulled over for not having mirrors a few times, but always got out of it. Tiny and useless they might hav...

Re: 2017 Aspen Classic camper & 2007 Ural Retro

I saw one of those Aspen trailers set up at Silver Creek Falls in Oregon. I was "roughing" it in a three man tent with my dog in the camp space across from them. I was quite envious of their setup. You're gonna love it!

They might not be for long. Irbit Motorworks of America takes a rather dim view of dealers that don't live up to their modest expectations, from what I've seen on this forum.

This post? An '07 shouldn't really need to be kick started in the first place, but he has the option to do so, if he wants to learn. However, no reply posted as to his success or failure with kick starting at this point. I'm more interested in that than his pop corn sales. Be interesting for him to ...

They probably haven't ordered it yet.

This isn't how the warranty thing works. It sounds as though you have a really sucky Ural dealership you are working with right now.

I think I've got it set properly, but if I don't, go to the 8 min mark. Guy on a sidecar rig (pretty sure it's an Ural, or at least an Ural sidecar) trying to get medieval on a Toyota.

Definitely a steal. There was no way I could have got time off from work to go half way across the U.S. to get it though, so no regrets. Enjoy your new bike!
