Re: increase hp
Drill carb slides first. Better throttle response. K&N filter in airbox. Check carb vacuum at both idle and around 2500/3000 rpm after each. Then experiment with either shimming or switching out the carb needle. Go for ride and check plugs after each step. Check cylinder head temps if possible. Ural...

Re: Theoretical way of improving cold starting of Electrojet EFI equipped Urals
Interesting idea. I'd be concerned that the gas spray would simply condense on the TB's inner walls without airflow carrying it into the cylinder.

Try drilling out the slide first. Use the search function in this thread for details.
Without recarbing there's not too much you can do to get more power. With proper carb tuning you can shift the torque band (rpm range) around a bit to suit your riding style but, IMHO, added power is a pipe dream.

Re: Petcock vs Petcock
My prime motivation - tank does not have to be drained for removal. This plus a couple of 5/16" QD plugs and I can take a full tank off.

Here you go.
First is "off". It's a right hand petcock so "off" is inward. This is the "on" position.

Manual shutoff petcocks on both of mine. Mostly to keep up the ages old habit of shutting off the fuel when I get off the bike.

HACK FOR FOGGING GLASSES.
Fold a kleenex into a loose strip and put it under the top of the mask. Works for me.
As for the gun fange idiots. I simply stopped going late last year. No reasoning with Covidiots.

Nothing URAL. Recovering from cervical spine surgery. Then, when recovered, replacement right hip. It's gonna be a long spring. Have to make a removeable step for my tractor. Light fab work. Can't weld yet so I'll get my neighbor Dave to do it for me. I'll post a couple of photos later today when I ...

Get a road map. Plan your route. Take your time and enjoy America. Can't see fudge from a superslab. Short hops on the freeway are fine, and sometimes necessary, but I avoid them if possible. I don't like being the darn near slowest thing out there.

Worked maintenance on those at, sadly now gone, Geauga Lake Park. Used to wipe the floor with graphite paste to help with electrical copntacts. Bad stuff if the Mrs/girlfriend slipped. Stuff never came out of anything it got on. Also. Under the Dutch Shoes (inverted ride) was a great place for spare...
