Re: Trailer mods for old guy (me)

At first I considered adding a boat trailer style crank winch but the Warn won out. Mostly because it was already in use. But I think a crank winch is more practical for most of us. There afre some that sue straps instead of wire/rope tha looked like they would fit the bill. It wouldn't be too hard ...

Supposed to have the hip done in February. Covid delayed plans. Next opportunity is going to be late October mid-November.

Re: Hand Pain

Try looking at your upper body and elbow angle. If you are leaning forward with your elbows out you could be supporting part of your upper body weight on your hands. The weight might be putting pressure on your median nerve (carpal tunnel nerve). Bar-backs and risers might be in order.

Trailer mods for old guy (me)

Haven't been out much this year. Right hip is shot and awaiting replacement. Sitting on either bike for more than 30mins or so is a real PIH (hip). After working on the "mistake" I had a lot pf problems getting it on my trailer so it could be bye-byed. So I fixed up a couple of cheats for myself. Fi...

Re: One Sweet SIG!!

H & K Oh never mind it was free Shot a VP9 for years. Gteat pistol. Sold it when I noticed it was becoming a safe queen. I'm not sentimental with my guns. I tend to keep what I'm shooting and get rid of the rest. I'm a lefty and I want to be able to manipulate a pistol without breaking my strong ha...

Agree. Classic bikes and dress up ='s much fun motorcycle cos play. Much better experienced with a group of fellow weirdos than soloing around.

I'll donate also.

One Sweet SIG!!

Saved up for this. Wilson Combat finished Sig P320X with trigger parts from Grey Guns. Frighteningly fast on the reset and more accurate than I am. The Wilson grip module is a dream in my hands. Ordered one for my P320 Compact. New mag bases from Grey Guns also.

Re: Front and sidecar brake linked?

Very well put Claus. I'm on your side in this discussion. I think caution and diligent attention when riding can prevent 95% of "white knuckle" moments. I also agree that the more braking you have the better - BUT - it must be used judiciously and with caution. I wonder how many of us have found a b...

Re: What's worse?

I know this is about bikes but I miss my BMW 320 Bavaria the most. Bought it in the 70's. Grey market. Factory built rally car from Italy. Straight 6. Monster carb. 4 speed. No power anything. Tuned suspension. Air dams that made it ride lower the faster you went. No spoiler to give it away. Smooth ...

DGR 2020 - ???

Got an e-mail. Seems the DGR is on for 2020. Even though it's being proposed as a "solo" ride I'm unsure about this. Any thoughts?

Re: "Mistake" - This is getting annoying

We all run into these folks from time to time. I'm sure Claus has a bucket full of stories about them. When I run into them I always remind myself; Thank G@d he (she/it) isn't a relative. There'd be no escape. FWIW - Yeah I'm disappointed. Yeah I was pi$$ed a bit. But at least I tried. It's the effo...

Re: "Mistake" - This is getting annoying

You'll love this. "Where's the manual?" In the trunk where I put it. "No it's not." Repeat several times over two days. I get sick and tired of this and drive over to his house. Not too far. Maybe 10min max. Walk down the drive to the bike and see him and his gransdson on the porch. Open the trunk. ...

Re: A Cautionary Tale

I'm paranoid about that and always weld outside and yes I've caught may pants on fire  John +1. Even the pants part. But I've been known to tig and braze inside. One of the reasons my shop is so clean is that, especially if I do hot work, I end the day with an organize, put away, clean up, s...

Re: "Mistake" - Final words.

I wound up moving the carcass to the new owmers house on my own. After a week of no return VM's and I decided to act. Left it in his front yard. Couple of hours later he's in my drive on the phone. Personal problems, car trouble, yada, yada, yada..... Brought me a present as as an apology. Bottle of...
