Re: Brake light always on

unlikely, but I once had one of the filaments on a dual filament bulb drop down and short out the other filament. I think the sidecar brakelight is dual filament, could be the problem but that's probably way too easy.

Re: Front Sidecar Light Angled Up?

I'm thinking you mean the blinker-marker light assembly on the fender. I've wondered about that too, figured they had a template for locating them at the factory and that's just the way they like it.

Re: Did you ride today?

Reports of the 2014-18 Urals now being crap with the introduction of Keihin FI are gross exaggerations. Carbs ain't too bad either, once they're set up. Have not touched mine for years and it starts easily (no e-starter) pulls strong with no flat spots and gets a respectable 32mpg. And yes, rode it...

tried Tomcatfixer's idea of spraying my ridiculously faded tonneau with Krylon Fusion. So far looks good, see how it holds up.

Re: Did you ride today?

Thanks Catey! Just checked, I've done about 2300 miles on the bicycle since i got it last October, and only put about 2500 Km (1550 mi) on the Ural in the same time period! Rode both today, both about 15 miles. Gotta start mixing the K bike in, it's starting to feel neglected.

Re: Did you ride today?

They're 700 x 40mm, same as 29". It's considered a gravel bike, wider tires & more relaxed position than a pure road bike but almost as fast. Handy for the river bikeways around here that get flooded periodically making for lots of mud and grassy detours

Re: First time buyer: 2018 vs 2019

The 2014's came in with lots of promises and fanfare but had their share of teething problems. On the other hand buying any Ural is a bit of a crapshoot, probably less so now than it was a while ago. I'd get the 2019.

Re: Did you ride today?

Tuesday's my 66th b'day, weather permitting I'm thinking a 66 mile ride. Since I got serious about biking a couple years ago I've lost 60 lbs, that's roughly the same as adding 60lbs of ballast in the sidecar.

Re: Did you ride today?

about 20 miles on the Ural to warm it up for fluid changes, then while everything was draining put 40 miles on the bicycle. Got back and said screw it, I'll finish tomorrow :D

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

55,000 km oil change. Engine, trans fill, trans drain, rear. Looks about normal. Drained the winter Rotella T6 and filled with good old Castrol 20-50. Redline Heavy Shock in trans and rear.

It is also a spoke wrench, almost as good at that as it is at wrenching pins  get one of these in 6.8mm if you want to use the other end of your pin wrench
