The Evil Dreaded Rear Brake Light Switch

I got the longest run on an Evil Dreaded Rear Brake Switch (20,000 kms+) but the Demon of the underworld has surfaced once again to spread its evil curse upon my 2010 Gear Up and crapped out. Luckily I always have spares of the evil device of the Devil. By design grease and dirt get in the plunger o...

Re: Limited Number of Clicks Per Visit

Just for grins let’s see if it’s on your end. With Mac, update your software. If that doesn’t do it try using Firefox instead of Safari. If that doesn’t do it I’ll contact,” Fearless Leader” (JohnBG) and see if there’s a bug on the forum server side.

Re: Big Beemer Boxer (1800cc)

I was looking at BMW's video on this with the, "Hipsters" riding them. That's the target market although I don't know if the Hipsters have the dough for a BMW Crusier? One thing mentioned is that there is an optional electric reverse feature. Didn't say if it Starter driven or a separate motor? Now ...

Re: Is Riding my Ural During a Global Pandemic Socially Irresponsible?

IMHO riding is healthy and therapeutic for the soul. I try to safety stay three car lengths when possible from other drivers. I don’t stop for coffee or food. Just for gas. And with that I bring latex gloves handling the pumps and then I throw them away. Riding has been very pleasant with the road t...

Re: C-19 and the Ural Community (Corrected Title)

It’s my feeling that in order to go into the grocery store people should be required to wear surgical mask and latex gloves. They should be supplied by the store. The point of contact by the registers with people standing in line is a big potential breeding ground for the virus. JMHO...

Re: C-19 and the Ural Community (Corrected Title)

Personally I’m in the at risk group. So far I still go for a ride but do not stop for coffee/food. When I gas up it’s latex gloves handling the pump. UDF is out. I tell people please don’t approach me or the vehicle. Hasn’t been an issue. Work wise I’m screwed. I’m in the Corporate Convention busine...

Re: Almost Got Hit with Girlfriend in the Sidecar

I got hit last year on my Gear Up. A little old lady taking her granddaughter to the airport ran right through the red light and hit me on the bike side fender just past my exhaust. Spun me 360 and I then smacked into the side of an SUV on the sidecar side. Luckily I saw her coming at the last momen...

If the Ural gods are smiling on me, I’ll be there with,”The one who must be obeyed”. We’ll be staying at a local motel. I’ll bring my stuff for movie night.

Re: The new Harley's

Harley knows they have to broaden their market.IMO their adventure bike prototype is not my cup of tea. Too big and heavy. Most likely overpriced when they start selling them. Whenever I see a big adventure bike (BMW, Super Tenere, VStrom, etc.) I always think,” What do I do if I’m alone off roading ...
