Re: Two Urals, One Trailer

Just last year, I welded together a 240 foot aluminum floating dock with a mig welder. My neighbor, who had never welded aluminum, took to it like a duck to water after an a...

Re: BIG BANG CANNON = Big Fun

At work, we made a potato cannon out of schedule 40 pipe and fueled it with acetylene and oxygen. Ignition was achieved with a spark plug, a piezoelectric barbeque starter button and a long wire, so we could stand in a safe place, far away, in case the device exploded. We shot it out over the water....

Re: Hand tools--is it worth buying used high quality tools?

When I was in college I was able to afford Snap-on tools and I was poor. I bought Snap-on in 3/8 drive and combination wrenches, SAE, Metric and Whitworth. As I got older and had more disposable income, Snap-on continued to raise their prices faster than inflation. They have been too expensive for m...

Re: How long did your oridginal battery last?

My Dnepr's first battery was a Yuasa, it lasted about seven years. The second battery was a NAPA motorcycle battery it lasted around five years. The battery I have now, in the Dnepr, is a computer uninterruptible power supply battery, it is about four years old and is working just fine. It is about ...

Re: Another trailer hitch question.

My Dnepr has a factory trailer hitch, it clamps to the inside of the sidecar frame under the cardan shaft to the sidecar wheel.

The Dnepr trailer has it's tongue offset, so it tracks directly behind the rig, same track as the rig.
