Re: 2019 Hype Thread

I look forward to experiencing a 2019+. For now I don't do much highway riding, but this is all very good news for Ural's versatility where this was the number one limitation.

Re: Hepco Becker C-Bow Luggage

Hepco Becker makes excellent stuff. I'd save the brackets from the goose and adapt them for use on the Ural. A little cutting and welding or some creative bolting things together goes a long way.

Re: 2003 Wolf?

I’ll take a proper Solo over a Wolf. The ergonomics are better and parts are more standard. I’ve actually always wanted to build a “Ural GS” with panniers and a bit of lift. That would have probably sold a bit better than the Wolf if the factory had done it. Enfield has now gone and done this with t...

Re: 2003 Wolf?

But after replacing the 10 gear in the FD with something more reasonable, can make a very unique sidecar rig. Basically the same as Retro/M70 with some really screwed up chopper style ergonomics. Good project if price is right. But as I own a Retro, just had an M70 hauled off for repairs, I am full...

Re: 2003 Wolf?

They're uncomfortable and ill-handling machines with all the liabilities of a Ural but none of the advantages.

You're better off with a Honda Shadow.

Re: 2003 Wolf?

Poor Wolves just can't seem to find their forever homes, or anyone to put anything on them but "low miles."

As a past Wolf owner, I don't have to wonder why that is.

Re: 2019 - Year of the Ural?

The "mainstream" left the sidecar world behind long ago, and it's unlikely anything Ural does is going to change that very much.

Re: Cuban Urals

Did you stay at Casa Particulares? The medical system is a shadow of its former self, it was all built on Soviet subsidies. Still a money maker for Cuba when they send their slave-doctors out to work for hard currency and pay them $30 a month. In my leftist family Cuba was always seen as a David fig...

Re: Cuban Urals

As you probably know, the Cuban regime makes it illegal to import vehicles into Cuba, or to engage in pretty much any private activity that could be seen as entrepreneurial. The Cubans are stuck with what they have, and on account of that scarcity, they're worth far more than they are over here, and...

We have seen that one here before, same photos too I believe.

I bet that paint will shine if you buff it with polishing compound. And will far outlast my ‘14 Powdercoat.

Re: Car battery installation?

It was just a Wintertime thing for you anyway. Figure without the extreme weather things are back to normal for you? The jerry can will always come in handy, if not for you, someone else. It was a wintertime thing, but it didn't even really help with that. Without the starting fluid, there were sti...

Re: Car battery installation?

Update: Since the big battery doesn't actually help start in the cold without starting fluid, and with the starting fluid there's no reason to use the electric starter even in deep freezing temps, I've reverted for now to my Odyssey AGM and removed the car battery from its provisional location in th...

$8k would be a great deal.
