Re: Power Arc -ing

one potential drawback is if the cam seal starts leaking, you won't know until you have ignition problems. I haven't had that issue but it is in the back of my mind, it certainly beats having to deal with a wet ignition. Happy trails, Jaybird This ^^^ bit me...cam seal leaked, didn't know & the Ura...

Re: I think I need new carb diaphragms

Just want to add this regarding setting the Power Arc timing, make sure that the black trigger wire is unhooked or NOT attached to the coil when you rotate the trigger disc. Otherwise you may/can damage the PA module. This is very important when setting up the PA. IMO, just sayin'.

Re: Oil Adaptor?

I'm with INSUB, I glued mine too but with a black gasket maker :D & does not slip when removing the oil filter. I smear a bit of oil over the filter gasket then just hand tighten the filter install & no leaks so far. YNNV

Re: Where to begin wrenching?

I'll give pulling the plugs ago this week once I can get back to the shop. I assume you mean turn the motor over with the kickstart (with ignition off)? What symptoms would I bee looking for with a hydro-locked motor? If you're able to spin the motor with the Kickstarter, then it could be the start...

Re: Where to begin wrenching?

If it were me...I'd take the spark plugs off & with the ignition switch off, have someone (if u can't) turn over the motor & see if any fuel shoots out. You should be able to turn it without difficulty. May be the clutch is grabbing, put it in neutral and rock it back & forth. Hope you didn't hydro-...

Re: losing one cylinder at high RPMs on the highway

Long shot...but one of the jets, main or idle (unlikely the idle, but check it anyway) may be plugged or partially plugged. Could be the plug wires too but ya checked those already. I worked on a friend's 2012, but on his, the left cyl was not firing at idle. Found the idle jet plugged, got that fix...

I've had the CHT since 2008, I've never taken the spark plug washers out. Works for me. YMMV

Re: Low speed shimmy

So, it turns out the steering damper isn't doing it's job, even with the knob all the way clockwise. Looks like I'll be heading to Sean's Steering damper if I don't want to deal with it any more. Yes sir..... Sean's steering damper works wonders in this situation. Got tired of monkeying around with...

Re: Brembo repairable?

Wildhorse...yes you can rebuild the Brembo brakes. Do a search... I rebuilt my 07 Patrol Brembo front brake way back, dunno if it'll be the same as what you have. I wrote a diy blurb on how to with part numbers & source. I rebuilt both the master cylinder & the Brembo brake unit. Good luck.

Re: Odyssey PC680-P Installation Trouble, 2008 Patrol

Have had PC680 on my 07 Patrol for I think 7+ yrs now. I also have an odyssey charger that I hook up occasionally just to top it up. I ground down some of the ribs to fit but not enough to compromise the integrity of the battery. Haven't taken it out since I installed it. Mr. Cob advised m...

Re: Ready for another flat tire video?

Big James...look into the "Motion Pro Armor Rim Strips". I use to get flats caused by those pesky rim nipples. Wrapped gorilla tape around the rim nipples, then installed the armor rim strip...ended the flats cause by the rim nipples rubbing against the inner tube. Knock on wood, haven't experienced...
