Re: Cut windshield?
I needed a taller than OEM windshield, I cut a new one out of Lexan. You might want to do the same and preserve your OEM windshield for resale or if you have a growth spurt  I used painters tape as others have described. I used the OEM windshield as a pattern, first tracing the bottom, then the...

Re: Dipstick thermometer
I put a dipstick thermometer on my harley dyna. Frankly I found it very distracting, and caught myself a few times trying to read it while riding. Might have been my last ride. I later bought one of these heat sensors, pretty cheap online. I can get a reading off the head near the spark plug, or th...

The /5 and /6 dipstick threads are larger than the Ural.

Re: Garage cleaning: Trunk/tail bag
I remember "Mag's Bag's", unfortunate what happened to them. I have a HF Tire machine, mounted on a portable base, I could trade if you're interested, David. It's just the base machine and lever tool though, without the motorcycle/small wheel adaptor, you would need to pick that up at HF. I'm gettin...

I have a variety of NOS Soviet brake light switches, a photo of what you need would be helpful. Are you in the US?

I don't know, but a fool and their money are soon parted.

Regardless of its originality, it would be a nice beater if cheap enough.

Re: Is anyone aware of a 'push on' 2 into 1 or high exhaust kit?
I’m planning a 2>1 high right side on my GearUp, same engine as yours. I haven’t decided yet if I’m going across the front or underneath. Some of the 650’s had a Y pipe in the front but the 750 is wider so it needs to be modified. I think there were some “Adventure” kits with a Y pipe offered for th...

If your hub is good, you could just build one up. Even better if you can salvage some of the spokes.

Re: Hand guards- 2001 Patrol
I bought "Moose" brand handguards for my 2005 GearUp at my local indiipendant motorcycle shop. I believe my 2005 is still using the early tapered bars, same as yours. IIRC, Rich, "BinDerSmokDat", did a write up with photos of his installation of the same handguards, my installation only varied sligh...

Other than the mounting brackets it looks ok.
You could always make better mounts for it.

Re: Pancake Flathead Sheet Metal Screws...
The Philip’s drive pan head screws are still quite useful, I probably won’t buy any more but I’m not going to throw out what I have. They’re probably left over from your Jeep days Rich, I’ve seen Jeeps with hundreds of them holding them together :D , more pan head screws and old heater plenum than J...
