Re: Final Drive Leak Repair

Part of the problem may be that it has a solid dipstick plug instead of a vented one. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/cIsAAOSwXshWp8Yz/s-l300.jpg Good catch. You guys might be right about the unvented filler, but you realize both of those photos are of the bottom of the final drive? Happy trails, Ja...

Re: Trailer question - Tech?

One other consideration with the small tires is the extra stress on the Wheel bearings. When you’re doing 65mph the smaller diameter tires need to make more revolutions to cover a mile. So In turn, the Somewhat undersized cheap ChiCom wheel bearings Are turning ten thousand RPM (probably a bit of a...

Call the Carpenter's Union on those bees! They aren't paying dues, they should be expelled! ;-)
Yea, and they’re working too fast and making the boys look bad!

Re: Building a better “anti”- mousetrap device.

I haven't ever had to deal with the bees and this product does not specifically mention them, so I have no clue as to its effectiveness against the Carpenter bees. It does mention crawling insects, such as ants. Maybe YouTube has some good ideas on such though, so check them out to see. This produc...

Re: Welding, Welders, and Welding Projects

I thought maybe they were in the same position as the oil tankers full of oil and nowhere to unload.
Shipping containers full of welders with no buyer’s maybe, that or the ChiComs trying to finish off our welding machine manufacturers.

Re: Building a better “anti”- mousetrap device.

Why not just change out your computer mouse before it procreates? Heck, they employ the buddy system to multiply, I bet. :-) I use a spray of the product MOUSE FREE - THE EXPELLER. It works on the undercarriage of my travel trailer, as well as the hack. Smells good, but you can also mix up your own...

Re: Building a better “anti”- mousetrap device.

I did something similar but put the cross brace inside the tub. I'm refering to what looks like a cross tie on top of the snowmen before they asre bolted to the tub. This is not the original Ural tub that came with my rig, it’s a mystery tub that I bought on eBay https://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums...

Re: Building a better “anti”- mousetrap device.

I'm a little confused. Are you saying that the nuts up top of bolts are tight clamping to the tub metal and there is still 1/2" space between the bolt head and the large washer below the snowmen to allow the snowmen to bounce upwards? If there were no space the snowmen could still compress right? Y...

I don’t think Rob was trying to disparage you HBH, I think he was looking for a way to explain a seemingly questionable diagnosis. I haven’t commented on your dilemma either but I also found that diagnosis to be a bit questionable, I just figured something was lost in translation somewhere along the...
