if I remember correctly the same wedge is used to retain the yoke on the final drive, and they do fall out occasionally. The final drive one is different and doesn´t fit. I’m pretty sure bicycle cotters are smaller. You might be able to grind the shank on an appropriate size bolt and retain it with a nut on the half threads that would be left, and/or some lock wire. Certainly not a permanent fix but probably good enough to let you ride on Sunday. Make two In case one...

If you run out of fuel, including reserve, you can milk a little more fuel out of the tank by tipping the rig up onto the left engine guard for half a minute or so. It’s not a lot of fuel, but it may be enough to get you that last half mile or just to get you off the road into a better place to refu...

I would look at the fuel pickup screens/fuel tank/fuel filters to see if there is any sediment or other partial fuel blockage. You might want to set the floats back where they're supposed to be and deal with the rich running in some other way.
