Re: Deep Sump Question

I have the Raceway high output oil pump, converted my 2010 to spin on filter, added the deep sump and Terry Crawford's sump pick-up extension. I use my bike mostly off-road and frequently with a monkey. My thought process is that 3 quarts of oil should retain its properties longer than 2 quarts of o...

Re: Russian "Hamster" Mono-track "motorcycle"

The hamster and the Trailbreaker look fun, but just aren't practical and too slow. What we really need is kit to put an electric motor on the front and sidecar wheels. The drive system doesn't have to propel it very fast, just 5mph or so. It should free spool when the bike is going faster. that way ...

Re: 2021 CRAP?

If anyone is feeling the need for Ural camaraderie this Spring, the Jersey Devil Hunt is still a go. We're even adding a pavement ride for those who don't like to get dirty.

Re: Mid Atlantic Back roads Discovery Route

Recycled, Uraldude and I rode a chunk of the MABDR in PA from Mt Holly Springs to McVeytown. It was largely gravel forest roads and a fair amount of pavement along the way. It wasn’t very challenging and was largely boring.Could have done it in a car, no off-road vehicle needed. We found more challe...

Re: 2021 Pot o' Gold in the Pines

I got here early, bike's unloaded, heard from Vadim, ReCycled and Xpat, they are on their way. Sunny and chilly, guessing it will be about 40F by time we head out.

Re: 2021 Pot o' Gold in the Pines

Ditto. I should be there about 9am.
It’s going to dip down to 30F overnight, so have layers for the morning, it will be chilly before it warms up.

Hey guys, let’s keep it to Jersey Devil Hunt related stuff.
A little drift off topic is one thing but this is getting to be like Facebook.
Thanks!

Re: 2WD Bearing Replacement Tips

Nobody is selling a better spacer. There was talk of machining it out of self-oiling bronze a few years back but nobody I know of has done that. I know of one Uralist who machined the small spacing washer out of bronze which slowed down the wear a little. I like Ron's idea of using a HARDER metal, I...

Re: 2021 Pot o' Gold in the Pines

Thank you for posting this update, Rich. Somehow I managed to convince myself (and my family) that the ride is scheduled for this coming Saturday... Could have a been a little awkward... With St. Patty's day falling in the middle of the week, we pondered doing it the weekend before or after. We dec...

Re: New to me 2007 Ural Patrol, help me gurus with upgrades, tips and tricks.

That's about right. There has to be some play because of the basic design of the shaft and the fact that both wheels are on swingarms that frequently move independent of one another. If you pull the two small bolts holding the 2WD yoke to the FD, you can easily pull out the stub shaft. Clean and gre...

Re: Dashboard for full-fairing.

I'd think thin, good quality plywood, either varnished to show the grain or epoxy coated to mimic fiber glass would yield good results. I've seen many boats with homemade consoles done that way with professional results.

Yrs, same place and same set-up as last year. We're technically "tent camping" for $10/head/night. If you are in the field with a van, you should be OK. If it's an RV or camper trailer, I think they want you to get a spot.

Re: 2021 Spring Devil Hunt...With Pavement! May 14-16

Just over 64 days... You... Time to put in for vacation. Order those parts for the fix you've been putting off. Tell the family you will be abandoning them that weekend. Call Turtle run if you have an RV or need a cabin/trailer. Find out who is going from your part of the country so you can trailer ...

Re: 2021 Pot o' Gold in the Pines

Just over a week!
I've neglected mine since the January ride.
Going to do some Spring maintenance this week to make sure it's good to go.
