Re: VIN Number

Jon
That is true but with the XTB376 it might be close to the total vin number of the bike If it was imported legally. A lot depends on what state the bike was sold in and where it is now on how hard it is going to be to get a title for it.

Re: VIN Number

Look on the right side of the frame on the down tube in the front. There will be a frame number there. Hopefully it will be a XTB376????? number that would match the title number. The XTB number is the number used by the old importer Ural America or later called CMSI. If that complete number is not ...

Re: what causes broken brake springs?

Where are you buying your springs? The heat treat is critical at all of the bend points. We had a problem a few years ago until the factory went to another source.

Re: For Sale 2014 750 engine

As it turns out this used engine needs a new crankshaft. Not being able to start it on my test stand because of the EFI and just checking the compression was not good enough. It will now be torn down and totally rebuilt. The price will be going up depending on what needs to be replaced. I will also ...

Re: Loctite 101

The way new engines are being assembled at the factory now a torch has to be used more often. Just remember that using that much heat will distort parts and they should be replaced, A good example are the clutch parts. The outer thrust plate is heat treated and when heat is added to loosen the clutc...

Re: 1999 650 to 750 swap out

Your 1999 650 has electric start off the flywheel, Keihin carbs, type 3 ignition. The new style driven clutch discs will fit. A 750 gear box will fit you case. These are all good points to stay with your engine and maybe rebuild it.
