Re: Cam timing valve adjustment type questions for dneprlover

It is pretty quick and simple to check TDC or as marked on the flywheel "ВМТ". Remove both spark plugs for ease of turning and use a dowel in the spark plug hole to determine top travel. This may take a few attempts and a helper, but with some practice, you'll figure it out. The "timing" mark "P" is...

Re: Dnepr identification

And some old parts - M72 style controls.
Later K65 or K63 carbs with adapters.
Later style tail light.
Hope it was indoors or tarp covering (but I doubt it). The transmission may be full of water or in the least contaminated as the speedometer cable is missing and the hole looks open.

Re: 1WD vs 2WD Dnepr

It is not limited slip. Lift the sidecar wheel and all power goes to the lifted wheel. The locker solved that. The geometry of the two models is vastly different. Side car wheel is more aft on a 2wd model and the sidecar sits up higher. I have time on both models and prefer the 1wd model in virtuall...

I won't pretend to be Dneprlover.
However, looks like the top portion of your interruptor is install incorrectly.

a) In the words of my ole man - "Never pass up a chance to p!"
b) "P" is for patina.

a + b = Never pass on an opportunity to leave patina

Re: Advice needed

Ha - whatever. I took a M63 that had been sitting in a barn for decades and gave it a refresh, not a rebuild. Runs wonderfully and the engine is the smoothest in Soviet bike I have ever ran.

Re: Advice needed

I would get it. These naysayers like the easy life.

Looks to have G424 12V alternator (M67+)
Looks to have vertical carb mounts - so probably for K301s
My guess (although I am better with older Urals, is M67.

Re: ethanol question

This morning in my town E10 is selling for $2.379/gallon and E0 is selling for $2.729/gallon. Both are 87 octane. Even with the reduction in MPG it is still cheaper to run E10. This is the walmart mentality. Really, it is only cheaper at the pump. Many Iowans may benefit financially due to this gov...

Re: A few surprises with m-11 final drive

The extra one I have laying around has the grooves as well. I get what they are doing. May not be necessary or that is just what is lazily made today. Don't know. You will likely have issues with the ring bolts later on. Looks like one has already backed off/stretched and interfered with the case. T...

Re: 1995 Dnepr MT-16 idling, dies when revving higher

For optimal results, you should use a press for the bearing and the gears.
Nice even application of pressure. Heat one or cool the other and it will install without drama.
