3.89 final drive for sale - $250 or best offer, plus shipping

I have a Ural 3.89 final drive for sale. This FD has seen use on a BMW/Ural conversion. The conversion was 650 Ural. This drive worked quite well with the older Ural transmission. The power and the trans gearing worked well with this FD. The transmission was switched out to a Herzog unit and the tra...

Has anyone seen this? 1700cc engine

Has anyone seen this? I don't speak or read Russian, but this looks vaguely Ural-ish.

Re: Does anyone DD their Ural?

When I had my BMW/Dnepr conversion, I drove it year round. In the winter (in Maine), I would make a point of taking it to work if the weather forecast was snow. The most fun you can have with your clothes on is driving a sidecar like a hooligan, in the snow. Best time EVAH.

Not CJ. Front forks and round fenders scream Dnepr.

Re: How many ride all year round? (Particularly in snowy climates)

I'm surprised some of the folks from New England haven't chimed in. There is a very dedicated group in southern Maine/NH that do a February camping trip. One year it just happened to be a blizzard for camping weekend. Nobody wimped out.

Re: BMW R9T with Ural Tub

I rode an R9T with a small Hannigan chair in July. I was on my R90/6-Ural hack at the Northeast European Motorcycle Rally. The fellow with the R9T hack and myself were the only hacks ridden to the rally. He tossed me the keys and said take it for a ride!! He didn't need to tell me twice. WOW. All th...

Overworked Ural

Copied over from ADVRider. WOW. Is this Ural not seriously asked to punch above its weight?

Original Ural Wolf

Somewhere around the late 90's, early 2000's, while cruising the interwebs, I remember coming across a German (I think) dealer converting Urals to 15" or 16" wheels. They sold them as the Ural Wolf. Does anyone else remember this, or was I cruising through an unknown portal to an alternate universe?

Re: R100 Powered Ural. $6K. Portland, ME.

John,

I am retired, on S.S. I work as a substitute teacher. I don't have a garage. My wife is still waiting for me to get over that motorcycle thing. Disposable income is scarce. Should I buy a lottery ticket and then win, I will buy more motorcycles. Right now, my R90/6 Ural rig makes me happy.

My Neval had the SU carb and adapter removed and replaced with a pair of 30mm(?) Del'Orto pumpers.

Re: R100 Powered Ural. $6K. Portland, ME.

I am surprised that there is not a line of people waiting to buy this rig. There are unmodified Urals going for more money that aren't capable of half what this rig can do. Is it just that nobody wants a 1wd rig? How many 2wd Urals actually get used off road where 2wd is required? This rig will run ...

Re: CL find: Neval on Long Island

The Neval was indeed "British built". I owned a 1983 Neval. The beauty of the Neval, is it was legally imported from England, and sold in motorcycle dealerships here in the US. Two brothers, Nev and Al (go figure) were fascinated by the Ukranian Dneprs and imported them from Kiev to be sold in the U...

If you are editing picture size on a PC (as opposed to an Apple product), just open your photo in Paint (free, included with Windows), click on resize. You can pick percent change, or pixel size.

find dnepr conversion to full BMW drivetrain

Hello folks, I have been a bad boy. I cleaned out my email and discarded all my old emails. Of course, now I want to contact a former poster who was building/fabricating a complete BMW drivetrain into a Dnepr (or was it a Ural??). Does anyone here recall that build thread? Ultimately ha had to aband...

Jaybird, sorry it took an extra day. Here are the photos of the back side of the final drive showing splines.
