Re: Dealership experience - Xtreme Machines in NJ

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply, but not looking to get anyone in trouble. I gave you guys a call, it's all good. You were obviously irritated enough by this guy to vent here on it. Its not about getting anyone in trouble, how can this shop owner improve customer service without knowing who is aliena...

Re: Ural Parking Brake

Only downsides I see are it's hydraulic, and not much of a theft deterrent. (one of the really nice things about the old drum E-brake) Theft deterrent? where is that coming from, its a parking brake. Between the old ebrake and E starter delete I can leave the key in the ignition and the bike is imm...

Re: "New" take on History of the Ural?

Greg, your post is an example of what I am getting ready to say. We can't really trust our own histories much less something coming out of the fog of the old Soviet Union. The history I am most concerned about started in Mar 2019 when I got mine, and so far has been a grinfest.

Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

I lived in Bullhead City years ago and that wind sandblasted my paint and chrome pretty badly due to parking the same way daily. A bike cover is a necessity there even just for parking at work.

Re: Beautyful Deco Classic

Clicked on the ebay item above and the seller, Alpha Cars is also offering something called a 2021 Ural GU Overland 006 for
a paltry 34,997 dollars. I realize that you sell for whatever the people will pay, but HOLY $#!+, 35 K for A URAL? This is some sort of joke, right?

Re: Spare tire: Necessity or luxury?

I have changed several mc tires over the years but have never had as much trouble as with the heidenaus that I changed last year. Granted, I am not nearly as strong as I used to be and have much reduced shoulder motion due to injuries but the stiffness just about whipped me. After that little fiasco...

Re: Sold on the Hack. Now I want a reliable one.

As an old fart I can tell you that the reverse gear is a life saver if you live in hilly country. I have a 13 tourist and run all over the national forest trails where I live and have never missed the TWD. This past year I had it in 4 inches of snow and it was more like steering a boat than driving ...

Re: Dyna Beads

I have been using them for years and check pressure with stem at 6, I don't know if that's the right way or if I've been lucky. I've heard of the stem clogging but never had a problem. I have much better results with beads than DIY with weights but that could be because I'm not good at it.

Mr Cob, I don't know forum niceties so this may not be the place for this question but how did your test ride go? I'm hoping it went well and that all the new parts worked and the pain was not bad.

Re: 2019 GU: Is alignment covered under warranty or am I doing it wrong?

The stuff for my initial set up check cost nothing. Two straight bed frame rails Four clamps Tape measure I was not smart enough to know to level the SC at the time and I still haven't bothered as I am happy as it is. For the road tweaking you just need wrenches and a magic marker to mark the starti...
