Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

A big thanks to codemonkey. I was in his area again yesterday for a job and timed it right this time. Was able to catch him outside and he was gracious enough to offer me a ride in the sidecar. Yes, I took him up on the offer. I think I used up every bit of his lunch time asking questions, picking h...

Re: The new Harley's

Like I said in an earlier post. The newer Big Twin HDs feel "pussified" to me. The newer models I don't get. Easy clutch, lowering ride, perceived better handling, the flash of finishes and CVO, tech screens and sound systems, increased displacement, they are all good. But for me my '04 FLTRI with ...

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

Well I did make it by there, just not at the top of the hour. I hate it when work gets in the way of fun. LOL Took a couple of pics to show the wife how versatile and practical and useful and,,,,,,,,,,,,,OK. Took some pics to show her and hope they help with my, "I NEED ONE" argument. LOL

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

Yep, that's me. I'll PM you my employer since I don't publicly share that on social media - it's in the lot most weekdays; come by at the top of the hour and there's a decent chance I'll be out back having a smoke next to it. As for other drivers' faces, best I ever saw was a snapchat to a coworker...

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

Hopefully one of these days an opportunity to meet would come up. It would be great to see your Ural and pick your brain on ownership. I work up on the North side of Normal, off Hershey north of Ft Jesse. There's another Ural owner in Peoria - guy works for Cat. https://www.instagram.com/mojosdaddy...

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

Just giving some feedback but noticed that Ural NE has a 2020 slate grey for $16,898. That seems like a great price :) I've noticed a few 2020 sales advertised on Cycle Trader with those prices. Both Ural NE and Heindl's have been advertising them at that price. In the meantime, I'm still giving al...

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

Where are you at in Illinois? My bike used to belong to Dave Clark in Pacific, MO (St Louis suburb) set up to his specifications - custom seats by Rich Maund, never had an issue with it. He's still listed as a dealer. West of you in Peoria, LOL. I actually live a little further west of there, but o...

Re: Free T-Shirt from UralNE

I usually do it the other way. I buy two shirts for $25,000.00, and the dealer throws in a free Harley.

Re: Push Rod Failure

Here may be an option for those who have had issues with the pushrods. This is just one option, I know there are others in the automotive world that make custom pushrods. Not sure of pricing, but they do say they can make them for ANY engine. Not sure either how the chrome moly tube compares in weig...

Re: Happy Halloween

We had 6” of snow for Halloween, hence no ghosts or goblins. That snow wouldn’t have slowed us kids down in the sixties. Being one of those kids from the 60s, I can say we trick or treated using the Postal motto. Rain, sleet, hail or snow, we're still going out for those FULL SIZE chocolate frosted...

Re: Harley's new $49,000 Trike

With the overall used motorsports market being in the gutter, a used metric and a used Harley are not far off for prices. Finding an independent mechanic to work on a H.D. is easier than finding one for a metric. If you're out on the road there's a HD dealership in what feels like every other town....

I like the looks of the BMW concept bike. How come concepts never make it to market looking quite as cool? LOL

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

Actually, it was I who mentioned my policy of not purchasing demo vehicles. Your LOL-thrashed-the-hell-out-of-those-things approach is precisely why I counsel others to view demonstrators as potentially damaged goods. You are correct sir, my apologize for crediting Mr. Wazzock with everything and l...

Re: 2018 dealer rebates and offers

One last thing, at this time anyway. I've seen you guys posting about a few of the really great dealerships and how the rigs are prepped right and ready. So I have some idea of a few good ones where I'd have a better chance of getting a rig that's set up right. I hate to ask anyone to publicly bash ...
