Re: Gas mileage seems lower then suggested....

I'm averaging 35 mpg with my 2018 M70, and high 20s with my 2007 Patrol. I won't speculate why, but low to mid 20 sounds way off for a EFI rig.

There have been times when I got significantly less than average up in the mountains, fighting strong headwinds, at freeway speeds.

Re: WHat would YOU pick?

I wouldn't rely on any URAL as sole transport to a JOB. They are NOT the worlds most reliable motorcycle. When your job is sole support of your family - You MUST show up on time. I could achieve this by having a backup vehicle when needed. I did it for 10 years on my 2007 Patrol, and only didn't ma...

Re: WHat would YOU pick?

Takes all kinds doesn't it. If someone offered ME the choice of BUYING EITHER OF THE 2 - OR half the price in cash, I'd take the CASH I'd take the cash too, but I'd use it to upgrade my 2018 M70 to 2019 specs, and have $5k+ left over to do with as I pleased because I wouldn't need it for repairs. I...

Do they even make brand new cars without EFI nowadays?
1994 was the last year a passenger vehicle was sold in the US with a carb.

Not saying that there might be some non disclosed charges involved. Look at the new bike, no delivery/set up included in listed price.

Re: Pattern pending not IMWA product

Brake shoes will not fit inside efi hub without machineing and it it also tapered surface. What I was referring to was a prototype that came before the production EFI hub and FD. If I recall correctly, it was just the standard drum setup with a disc added. I had a picture of it, but cant find it no...

Re: Pattern pending not IMWA product

So you can have a brake disc one one side and a brake drum on the other, all on one hub! Dual technology "Drumisc" braking! Maximum stopping force! That's outside the box thinking. WAYYY outside the box! Put a carb bike FD on an EFI and use the drum as a parking brake, EFI parking brake probl...

Re: Soviet-Australian-Chinese survival tool

Well, its turning out to be a rather handy garden tool. Being small I can toss it on the lawn tractor while mowing to cut back brush and low hanging limbs when mowing. I have also used it to chop down, and cut up some saplings, and small trees on an overgrown path. Used the shovel today to set some ...

Re: Seized rear disc bolts?

As been said, put back with a bit of copper grease or similar which is what i did. :!: Went through all 4 wheels on my M70 within a week of bringing it home. Broke them all loose, put anti seize on them, and torqued them to spec. Also removed all the unused hole plugs, and sprayed Boeshield in them...

Soviet-Australian-Chinese survival tool

https://www.sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=54117 Ok, lets get this out of the way first.... Yes, Even considering its an unusual specialty item, from a mom and pop, one product business, its ridiculously over priced for a low tech Chinese made tool. No need for Captain obvious comments ...
