Re: Final Drive Leak Repair

No, I have the vented dip stick with the crappy plastic cap. When I first got my bike, it was over filles and spewed excess gear oil all over. I have been keeping it at the proper level and as a result it hasn't been spewing out the top.

Re: Final Drive Leak Repair

It still peaked today after tightening everything up, but not as bad. We will see how it progresses and when I find some time,in an upcoming weekend I will crack it open.

Re: Final Drive Leak Repair

Well, based on Jaybird's advise, I tightened up the bolts and will evaluate to see if the leak continues. They tightened a little bit, but not much. Time will tell!

Re: What is this?

Well, I shook it and there was liquid inside that you could hear sloshing around, so at least it isn't dried up.

Re: What is this?

Okay, so just to make sure I am correctly guessing the implied statement meaning above, does that canister contain Forest Green Paint? Or is this the wrong guess and I am missing something. If it is paint, it looks like it is a sealed canister with no strew cap or pull tab to get at the paint. Is th...

What is this?

Okay, so when I got my Ural, the previous owner gave me this item with it. However, I don't know what it is. It is a sealed cylinder. Is this grease or something? If anyone has any ideas on what it is I would be more than happy to hear them. Also, depending on what it is, is there a tool associated ...

Re: Final Drive Leak Repair

I am planning on lubing the splines with my LB 8012 Metal-Free Low Friction Lubricant (see pic below for container). Is this the same stuff that I would use on the 45 needle bearings?

Final Drive Leak Repair

So my final drive has a leak. It has had it for a while and I've tried to ignore it. It was originally slow and didn't make a big difference. However the leak has grown steadier and it has now come time to repair it. I believe the issue is the gaskets are probably leaking, see pics below. I have bee...

I love the color. Place the Saturn looking logo gives it that cool space look. Bet the missing windshield for the sidecar would be hard to find.

WTB Dust Cover for Ural rear wheel

I am looking for a dust cover that goes on the bike's (not the sidecar) rear wheel. Changed out my tire and realized my wheel didn't have a dust cover. My rig is a 2006 Ural Patrol. Hopefully someone has one or can point me in the right direction on where to get one.

Re: Cotter pin on Axle placement for 2006 Ural

Thanks for the info S 854 and Wooden Nickel. So I know I put the spacer washer back in. I was following the http://myural.com/removing_and_installing_wheels.htm guide and it specifically told me to pay attention to that. However, looking over the internet at some more pics, I think my wheel is missi...

Cotter pin on Axle placement for 2006 Ural

I have a 2006 Ural Patrol. I changed out my rear wheel and couldn't remember if it mattered where the cotter pin went. I screwed the axle in and the coffee pin had space between where it was located and the axle nut. Should it be aligned somehow? Also, how freely should the wheel spin when it is up ...
