Re: Small pop up tent trailers......

Sixbennets, when pulling that trailer, how much weight is the bike and tub carrying? How do you handle hills, are you able to keep 40mph? Have you pulled on gravel roads, if so, how did it handle?

Do they make “over load springs” for a Ural? Lol

Small pop up tent trailers......

Has anyone pulled a jumping jack tent trailer? At 100lbs tongue weight, I would think it is way too heavy.
Does anyone pull any kind of pop up tent trailer?

Re: Goggles or windshield, what do YOU use?

Windscreen on both bike and tub, dog rides in tub and loves the windscreen, hates googles and will watch them off her head every time. I like the windscreen over googles, as my glasses do not fit under them. Only minor complaint I have with the windscreens is my beard ends up sticking straight out a...

Dog passengers...

For the ones who ride with dogs in the sidecar, does your dogs drool a lot? My dog loves to ride, with HUGE doggy smile and will continuously bark when left home until I return. She sits on seat with nose almost touching the windscreen. She drools all over the seat while riding. She has access to a ...

Re: More on gas milage ......

I just did a weekend camping trip, fully loaded with wife and gear. The trip home was 120 miles long, with a small Mountain pass. (3000ft) Did average 60-65 mph along the trip. Got my best mileage for the entire weekend on this last trip, 120 miles on 4 gallons. (30mpg). Stoped at the local truck sc...

Tighting mirror clutch lever brackets.

My left mirror and clutch lever clamped on the handle bar is loose, have used Allen wrench and tightened screws as much as possible. Mirror and clutch lever is still loose, vibrating and sliding while riding. Can not tighten the screws anymore without stripping the threads. Any advice on how to tigh...

Ural first aid box....

The one that bolts on to the metal straps on the sidecar tub.

Has anyone used these for an actual first aid situation? Am curious as to how well the boxes where stocked, or do you fill it yourself with bandages and such?

D like the look of it.

Re: Question for the People who tow trailers....

How many, if any, tow a Kwik Kamp trailer? The missus wants something a little more then a tent to camp in.

Question for the People who tow trailers....

Yes, I know it kills warranty, but beyond that, is the trailer worth the extra hassles? Spent past weekend remote camping with friend riding a KLR towing a Kwik Kamp trailer. We, me and missus, had a regular tent, by end of a 4day weekend, missus was jealous as hell towards buddy and their trailer.

Re: Tractor seat vs bench seat

Windmill, I do like the looks of that seat. How comfortable is it after a long ride? How does it workout when off road?

Hard cans vs soft leather saddlebags?

Pros and cons on the different saddlebags.

Leather bags easier to take with you, lighter weight, looks cooler.
Hard metal cans (50mm ammo cans, etc.) can be locked, more hardy when riding off road.

What do you folks think?

Tractor seat vs bench seat

I currently have the stock bench seat, equals sore butt after a few hours ride. Am curious how comfortable is the tractor seat for long rides? Also am looking at the extra room behind the tractor seat for a dog crate.
Any opinions?

More on gas milage ......

I posted the other day I seemed to be getting low gas mileage, 25-28 mpg. Went on a 3 day camping trip, bike/tub loaded with roughly 270 lbs luggage and dog, windshield on both bike and tub, I got about 120 miles on one tank. This seems a bit low in mileage to me, or am I expecting too much? Granted...

Re: Total Weight Load?

Paved mountain road 25miles then another 10-15miles down gravel mountain road to camp. Site.
