Re: experience with cigar box guitars, anyone?

Pretty straightforward if you don't want frets. I made a banjo from a letterbox and piece of handrail. The bridge was a little piece of the letterbox I cut off and the strings slip over screws drilled right into the bottom end of the handrail. Violin pegheads ($5 for 20 or something on ebay) for tun...

I am working on putting this diesel engine, into this.
Mike, that has been a dream project since I was in college 10 years ago. If you have a build thread or some youtube vids, I'd like to watch the progress. If you were closer I'd offer to swing by on the weekends!

Re: Knucklewarmers?

Looks like this thread was just resurrected yesterday, but it's cold and posts are relevant... I run generic ebay 'tape on' or 'under grip' hand warmers. They work well, have not died yet. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Set-Universal-Motorcycle-Heated-Handlebar-Grip-Heater-Wrap-Hand-Warmer/293694603035?...

Re: *SOLD*CHT Gauge For Sale *new price*

I will let you know, haven't ridden with them yet. Back when I was checking with a laser gauge it was in the 375-400 range also. Then again my rig can't achieve 60mph on its own...

Re: *SOLD*CHT Gauge For Sale *new price*

I know this is long overdue but I wanted to thank Andrew for a fine packing job and fast shipping.

The CHTs only just went on today but are in good shape and working order.

Re: How did you come to riding a Ural?

Polar Bear Adventure Rally 2015. Didn't think much of it, it looked cool but the guy said they were finicky. Not for me at the time... If this is anyone still active let me know! Ended up stumbling across 2 after moving to Denver, within a week of each other, and one of them made it to my garage loo...

Re: Fuel Tank Liner

Caswell Tank Sealer. It's a 2-part epoxy that isn't supposed to break down from gasoline. Sealed all the cracks in my ural tank (I was leaking in 3-4 places on the tank). Appears to be holding strong over a year later though some has flaked off from the very edges of the filler neck. https://caswell...

Re: Best windshield Fairing or Plexistar 2?

My plexistar shook around way too much and didn't provide a lot of coverage at 6'1". The standard Ural is nice and sturdy and has better wind coverage but still nothing to keep it off my head.

Always a good bet to go to your friendly local upholstery shop, or better yet, marine upholstery shop for help. They should also have all the parts needed for the job, though the wood will be cheaper at home depot.

Nothing can hurt from taking an MSF course either. It was a mandatory course in Florida, but it still gets me an insurance discount every year.
