Re: Strange wear on my transmission shifter forks

Alrighty guys, I'm ordering parts later today and I wanted to quickly check to see if anyone recommends replacing anything besides the 2 shifter forks, shift fork shaft, and shift fork sleeves. Here's a gallery of images showing the 4 secondary shaft gears. It's 6:18 AM and I've yet to sleep, so I c...

I am debating whether or not to throw my hat into this ring. Less than a day left.

Re: Ural Gear Shifting and RPMs

There's a bit of confusion when it comes to this subject. IMWA has never published or recommended a "red line", some confuse the RPM listed on the emissions label as a "red line", but it is not. "red line" on a Ural is it's rev limiter. What rev limiter? Did they start doing that with the '14+?

If Pete accepts my help, I will dial his carbs in for him. :D

I agree that this is a clogged pilot jet in one/both of the carbs. Easy fix.

Yes. Its so not worth having to open it up again. Any item you can see wear replace and a better outcome ensures.
Do you know what the cost of these is roughly?

Re: Strange wear on my transmission shifter forks

Would you replace these gears based on the round edges on the tops of those tall things? https://i.imgur.com/5nrH8mgr.jpg https://i.imgur.com/pd7a67o.jpg Side 1: https://i.imgur.com/627xRRi.jpg Side 2: https://i.imgur.com/NZYwzpS.jpg The one for 1/2 looks the same: https://i.imgur.com/18J4keT.jpg Si...

Re: 2011 GU for sale, low miles garage kept near Boston

Your rig is equipped with nearly everything that I'm going to have added to my own by the time I'm done...at a cost that by the end will be less than I've spent. Dang. Good luck with your sale. Not a huge fan of the color but the mods are really fantastic and at a great price. Edit: I did a little c...

Re: 2005 Retro - Los Osos, CA

You should be able to use either one of the 19's I think. Well, then, that could be an interesting tire to spoon onto the Little Red Bear 's pusher. Yeah, see my edit. I didn't realize there's a third 19" option, the 120, which is too big at 4.5". Won't clear the driveshaft if I remember correctly,...

Re: 2005 Retro - Los Osos, CA

Aggressive tread pattern. Only $57 in 4.10x18 ". Not sure which 19 " size would be appropriate. Much more round than I prefer in a sidecar tire, but I like to experiment. Perhaps I'll pick one up and throw it on the Mobile Chernobyl 's pusher to see how it wears. shinko705_dual_sport_tires_750x750....

Re: cooling fans

This has been done. There's a guy in my area (Virginia) who set this up on his Sahara. He isn't here on the forum as far as I know, but apparently it does bring his temperatures down. They're mounted near the leg guards on his bike. Tomcatfixer asked him about it, maybe he remembers more about the s...

Re: WTB off road rig

Oof, not nice on the ol wallet. That's partially why i'm looking for a carburated model (plus I like simple). Thinking more in the 7-10k range. And since that's a 2015 the warranty would be expired, correct? Which makes me think that any low mileage problems haven't been fixed. Pretty bike though. ...

Re: Strange wear on my transmission shifter forks

Man, I feel for ya. Your rig is such a good color and seemed like it was solid when you got it. It seems like you've had nothing but problems. I will say that it is good to see you fixing these things yourself instead of just giving up. Sorry I cannot offer advise on the fork wear, but you have my ...

Strange wear on my transmission shifter forks

2011 Patrol I have been having issues with many things on my rig. One of the latest ones is the transmission. It was falling straight out of third gear a lot of the time and when it would stay it was only for a few seconds at best. I'm not sure which shift fork is which, but I believe that the first...
