Wiring diagram

Hi guys, I have bought a new loom for my 1999 Ural 650 solo. The wiring diagram that came with it from Vostok Motorcycles is in Russian, and is also for a sidecar combo. I am sure the Dnepr diagram is nearest to mine, but I need a translation. I’ve searched for the same diagram in English but no goo...

Re: Retro Look Mods

This winter I plan major changes, not least of which is fitting a BMW R100 tank. Tbh I’ve never been a fan of the Ural tank, and I think this will improve the look of the bike. It means that I will need new badges. The Beemer badge is a stuck on, foam backed thing, 70 mm diameter and sits in a 3mm d...

Front Fork Swap

I intend to take the bike off the road for winter, to get a few jobs done. I'm also thinking of swapping the forks for BMW items, specifically to add disc braking. Has anyone done this before? If yes, will R45/65/75/80/100 forks fit and swap straight in? Obviously there will be head bearing issues a...

Re: Retro Look Mods

I’ve had a pair of aluminium inlet flanges made, and now I’ve fixed the air leaks I have to say the bike is going great. In gear speeds are 25 in first, 45 in second, 60 in third and a teeth rattling 85 in top. Not that you’d stay there long, mind you! All with a lovely snarl from the inlets. https...

A great idea, but a LOT of polishing!

Re: Retro Look Mods

At a casual glance, nothing really stands out, except the giant " red rocket " protruding from the posterior. I’ll take that as a compliment if I may. I didn’t intend it to really stand out, but I must concede the tail light is pretty obvious. I said from the beginning that not everyone would like ...

I have to say that looks pretty good. Didn’t think of VW bits, but I may well research that in UK. Thanks.

Re: Retro Look Mods

How did you run the wires going to the Tool Box on the Tank? I don't see them so Good job there but how? I removed the original light, made a mounting plate to use the same holes and wired into the existing wiring. I had to fit a couple of led number plate lights as the Caddy light doesn’t have a c...

Re: Retro Look Mods

Last post for a while as I now intend to enjoy the bike for the summer. American members will recognise this, but for those who don’t it’s a 1959 Cadillac tail light, and I really like it. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180514/f2bae99270849f63b4c965e037987758.jpg T Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
