Re: Breaking in a new transmission
I just had my transmission replaced too. Both the dealer (who said the Ural's were carbonated until 2019 and that phasing the drive shafts doesn't matter) and Ural HQ in Redmond said that only the oil change is what needs to be observed. HQ said "take it easy for the first couple miles just to make...

Re: Breaking in a new transmission
I would also use a new crush washer on the drain plug and not over tighten it. Ural moved away from crush washers to Dowty washers several years ago, they would be OE on the OPs bike, and what Ural would supply if ordered from them. There's no reason to replace them unless there's visable damage to...

Re: Breaking in a new transmission
Very cool, thanks for all the feedback. I wanted to get some opinions here because the place that has done the work is new to Urals. They specialize in Italian motorcycles and just became authorized to do warranty work and not sure they know all the ins and out of the bikes yet. In fact, that's one ...

Breaking in a new transmission
Hi gang, I've been without my Ural (2018 M70) for right at a month now and just got a phone call that its ready at the shop and I have some questions. The transmission started acting up early during the holidays last year (it kept popping out of 3rd gear during the upshift) so I took it in to have i...

Re: B-17 crash 7 dead more hurt.
This was such a tragic loss on several levels; not only the loss of life but a piece of history. My thoughts and prayers for those that perished and for their friends and family. Nine-O-nine was so much than just a 75-year old airplane, it was a flying museum. We need planes like this to keep histor...

Re: Alternate lighting choices.
When researching replacement tail lights, I discovered the "hamburger light" name. I think it (the name) is British.

I park with my bike in gear and just use the brake when parked on an incline to augment the gears.

Thanks

I'm looking but I don't think so. This style looks to be completely European but the world is smaller thanks to the interwebs

Cool, got any pics?

Re: Retro/M70 tail light LENSES???
Wow, you guys are awesome, thanks for the tips  I just finished upgrading my bulbs to LEDs so that's why I was looking for just the lenses. If it comes down to it, another option it to do a complete swap out for a solid LED setup. I found a while back that in England they call this style o...

Re: Retro/M70 tail light LENSES???
Round lenses like that were a staple on utility trailers for many years. I would check at NAPA or a truck supply shop locally. You may find what you need. A boat shop that sells boat trailer parts is another possible source. Look online at West Marine or simply Google boat trailer lights/lenses. In...
