Re: What did you do ON your Ural today?

Yep. :D I use blind faith, put my heel where I think it is and stomp. Didn't take long to learn.

Re: Portland to Anchoage AK Vis Air Museums

Addendum: just remembered 2019 rocker covers are different so not sure what you got TBH. I was talking about 2014 - 18 version.

Re: Portland to Anchoage AK Vis Air Museums

Yes, valve covers, they took them off to do the lash check (I only asked for oil change - I was going to do that myself when I got home) Something about glued on and tore, make sure you have them in hand before you take apart is always good way to approach. OK, I learned my lesson do not put gasket...

Re: Reverse Shift Lever (? OEM)

No need to mess with original lever comes with own lever straight swap, see second photo. What I like about this one is doesn't need taking tank off and messing with the ignition coils. Some people have broken things that way!

Forgot to mention how good my Nolan is at weather protection, in winter have no real idea how cold the air really is until I open the visor!

Re: Total Weight Load?

I forgot to add extra bolt on accessories to my list.

If I'm just out on a short trip, not camping, no luggage for a longer trip, just carrying my "normal" day-to-day crap, full Jerry can, full tank etc., me sitting on it (no passengers) I added it up could be 950 lbs or more.

Re: Front Disc Pad Wear Query

I'm also using EBC, changed to semi-sintered last year, partly because the originals went wedge shaped I.e. fooked, and also because I started towing a trailer. These pads now done about 6 - 7,000 miles still got plenty of meat left. Conversely I've just put in second EBC semi-sintered rears, same r...

Re: Bike won't move

Who's the dealer? I agree with Lokiboy they might be talking bollox. I'd want to see it myself. Spline wear is inevitable but usually the clutch plate teeth go first, which is preferable to the shaft spline. Unless we've totally got the wrong end of the stick so when you say it won't move you actual...
