Any chance the transmission was in reverse when they were pushing it down the hill and dropped the clutch? Might help explain the long skid mark on the road.

When you get out the multimeter, also get out the Ural Owner's Manual and read it. You will find out that the "battery icon" that is flashing IS the alternator light. Kinda' logical isn't it? I suspect that this is normal operation, as alternator may not be spinning quite fast enough at idle to keep...

Make that thin metal bushing out of a strip of aluminum cut from a soft drink or beer can. Wrap the strip around the handlebar and reinstall the clutch lever assembly. This is best done after the can has been emptied.

Shorter screws may also fix this problem.

I too have a '17 GU. All I have to offer here is the technique I use to shift into reverse on my rig. BUT, it works every time. Sometimes its harder than other times, but it works. I have no hand shifters on my rig, so all references here to shifting are done with the two foot shifters. Here we go: ...
