Re: Swiss Army Pistol Fits In Russian Tank Box!

My solution posted a year or so back, weapon rides on the foam in its cutout, covered with another foam piece. Modified the lock (converted to a magnet) for fast access no key needed in case the weapon needs to appear quickly (hope it never does) The door stays shut snugly! Weapon does not stay with...

Re: Mounting hardware for Dnepr sidecar

Skillet, I completely agree with "rivers". I have not used Claud Stanley (just heard good things about his work) but my first sidecar rig was built by Jay at DMC, an R100S with Sputnik hack, loved the rig and Jay's work and design is super. I just looked at his web page and he has a mount for BMW tw...

Re: 2018 gear up

Welcome, I live in Sun City and use the Ural Dealer "Go AZ" in Scottsdale. The Ural tech there, Charlie, is very good and their prices for farkles seems to be close to anyone else. I bought several things including my 2/3 bench seat from them, plus when it makes sense, I believe in supporting local ...

Re: Senior and Disability Therapy Riding

Welcome from a "geriatric" 76 year old with nephropathy causing balance issues. I love riding my 2014 Gear Up and having previous two sidecar rigs never used ballast in the hack, (even practice flying the chair so I know how to react if it happens by my error) other than when my bride is with me. Sh...

Re: Non-Ethanol Blended Gas

Thanks to all for the information! I will be using "Clear Gas" while in Central Oregon, when we return to Arizona in the fall it will be back to ethanol since I have not found a station in the Phoenix area (west valley) that has the good stuff on tap. Bummer!

Non-Ethanol Blended Gas

Has anyone used clear or non-ethanol blended gas. Any advantage? They pump it (91 octane) at a couple stations in La Pine, OR. A bit more expensive so wondered if there was in pro or cons to using it in my 2014 F.I. Gear Up.

Re: Critique this build!

Hi,
You may want to look at the tall Parabellum windscreen for you Ural. I used one on my old BMW/Sputnik rig and installed the tall one on my 2014 GU (I am 5" 8') mounts easily and is strong, works excellent and helps reduce wind drag.

Re: Where in the SW is Albuquralque

I was in a camper in Tucson. Took the paved road up and the dirt “control road” down the back side throught the town of Oracle. Great ride. I must have been south of where you were. Was camped in Sierra Vista, drove south and took W Montezuma Canyon Road west to Hwy 83 then north to Cimmaron Rd - W...

Re: Where in the SW is Albuquralque

Must be Arizona, If I owned Arizona, I'd rent it out and live in hell. Wildhorse Cafe - Rent away, you already live in California... However, could the photo show Mingus Mountain? On second thought maybe Coronado National Forest, the pull out looks like one I stopped at there, so many choices to ri...

Re: Maasdam - Mods

[/attachment] The idea is to make the puller smaller without using tools. Hal's idea done. Replace the center bolt with a (self-made) pin and spring pin. Removing the handle from the "body" of the puller makes the package shorter and easier to put somewhere. Example: YMMV Great idea! I am now a "cop...

Re: First time buyer: 2018 vs 2019

If I was going to buy a new Ural I would not even consider anything but a 2019. Best, Jeff +2 My 2014 had some EFI issues but about 3 years ago the throttle bodies were replaced under warranty and the mapping updated, it has ran really well since then. Living in AZ heat, for a $1,500 difference I w...
