Re: Final Drive issue

I'm a believer in frequent fd oil changes. That small quantity works hard and can become contaminated.

Flush it out a couple of times if it was nasty.

Re: Garage cleaning: Batwing fairing

We're going to test fit it on Bob's BC in a CV couple of weeks, it has the Retro type headlight.

I'm happy to bring it to JDH if it doesn't fit.

That is the price that puts a second Ural in the garage by accident :)

Re: Need some help, lost power

After you check the fuel system. Check the timing interrupter, they had a tendancy to break the spot welds. Soild spun interrupters are available. I respectfully disagree with the honorable Recycle, a physical inspection is needed. Eye ball carefully. No doubt, that is what I would do also :) I was...

Re: Need some help, lost power

I agree on both the likelihood of the fuel system being the immediate culprit and that a FULL service is warranted. 17+ years will not be kind to things like brake fluid and rubber. I would never consider riding with tires that old on a two wheeler but might be game on a Ural. But not 17 year old fu...

Re: Trail Riding

The trans vent is below the starter, you would probably need to remove it for access. I used a elbow fitting and then rubber tubing(fuel line?) That being said, it is likely a bit of overkill for riders. I have been through a lot of medium to deep water crossings and I've never known anyone to inges...

Re: Garage cleaning: Trunk/tail bag

I'm going to pass on the tire tool. I picked up one the Baja tools a while back and I like it.

Not that I'm opposed to bartering... :)

Re: Garage cleaning: Trunk/tail bag

I thought a couple pictures to show the scale might help.

This style trunk was made popular here by Mag's Bags, anyone remember those?

Mine is going unused so please make an offer.

Re: Garage cleaning: bench seats

The '06 is sold, thanks Greg!

The older seat with torn cover is still available. Time for a price reduction... $20 plus shipping.
I can remove the cover and foam if all you want is the pan and brackets to reduce shipping cost.

Re: Horn replacement?

The stock horn is sounded when the negative(ground) is supplied via the pushbutton on the handlebar. if you attach the single wire horn to a grounded frame member and attach the positive wire, the horn will sound constantly. It is easiest to just use a two wire horn but if you want to use what you h...

Re: Garage cleaning: Batwing fairing

I seem to recall your BC has the more common headlight with separate dash/brow containing the speedo and idiot lights. If so, then it will for sure.

If it has the single piece headlight bucket like your Retro, then I'm not sure.

Re: Garage cleaning: bench seats

If you already have a stepped bench, then you should already have the same brackets and should be a direct swap.
