Gear for the kid?

Postby ChuckDude » Sun Oct 12, 2008 11:47 am

Anybody got any suggestions on gear for a 6 year old? My nephew needs a little adventure in his life.

Does anybody make a FF helmet with interchangeable liners that can be swapped out as his head grows?

How bout a place to buy used kid's gear? (he gets a new lid tho)

(The parents didn't like my idea of just feeding him less so he grows slower  )

Thanks!

Go look at dirt bike helmets. Alot of the higher end ones are DOT and
with a set of goggles he'll be fine.

It will be easier to find all the gear needed in the motocross world. That is about the only palce it exists. Lots of kids gear from head to feet.

Thanks!

I took the nephew, niece, & dad for a ride today. Just around the block with the young'uns, with their bike helmets on.

Hanna is 5 & an adrenaline junkie. I kept the speed low, hack wheel high  .

Dad fit my spare helmet & got a longer ride. I'm pointing him at this site. He may be in the market for a Ural :friday:

Now I just have to buy 'em some gear so we can actually go somewhere.

Good on you. This is a great group who seems to have a love/hate of their RPOC. As for the kids gear the MX world will have helemnts that are DOT/Snell that will fit the kid.

Some of my family have asked if Urals come with social lives, I am thinking they do, we have met the nicest people with our Ural.

The replies to look for kids motocross gear are spot on. That stuff is built to fit and adjust as they grow. Fairly easy to resell too once he's completely outgrown it. Try this place...

www.bobscycle.com

The store is fairly close to my house and they have tons of motocross gear and good prices. Good online catalog to boot. Lot's of street gear as well. I have two helmets and a jacket from there as are my boys' helmets.

Good Luck,

Pep Boys used to have motorcross gear and such for kids. Haven't been there for a bit, but they used to have it.
