My first problem

Postby mapperjay » Sat Apr 19, 2008 12:23 pm

I finally got back in town and took a ride, but half way through the ride the turn signals stopped working. The indicator light would like up and not blink and the signals themselves wouldn't come on at all.
I only have 620 km (07 patrol)

Suggestions?

Also, this brings up the question, I know that they make repair manuals for these, but I haven't seen them for purchase online? Do I need to order through the dealer?

Thanks,
Jay

Sometimes the flasher unit takes a dump. And this one we can't blame on the Ruskies.....it's an US made flasher... :)

Fortunately the replacement is available at any auto-parts store for a couple of bucks. I don't know the part number, but many here do; check back in a few and I bet someone will post your needs

Welcome to the club, mapperjay. Exact same thing happened to my 2007 Patrol a couple of nights ago - indicator light will come on solid state, but none of the signals blink at all. I did some digging too on here, and it most likely is the flasher unit. Turn your handlebars all the way to the left and look under the control panel - in the midst of the mess of wiring, the round thingie with the clear plastic cover is your culprit.

Guys - that thing pulls out like taking an electrical plug out of the socket, right?
Cheers,
Anthony

The stock flasher is crap! Everybody has the same problem. Mine didn't last 500km.

Look here for an answer: http://sovietsteeds.com/forums/viewtopi ... ht=flasher

Repair manuals, yes they sell them or try http://www.myural.com for free.

Yup like pulling an electric plug out of a wall socket, pull it straight back.

Cunning plans! So cunning that you could stick a tail to it and call it a weasel! I'll check in the morning.

Thanks for all your help. I can't tell you how much fun I'm having with this.

When mine crapped out I pulled it, gave it a few good whacks with a screwdriver, put it back and it worked.........for another few days, anyway.

Check with your dealer too. Raceway is sending me a replacement under warranty.
