Tach install

I was wondering if someone has some detailed instructions on how to install a tach on an 07 with the Ducati ignition? I am electrically challenged.

I installed my tach and have a Ducati ignition,
the instructions come with the tach are spot on.
there is 3 wires, positive, negitive and a green wire which goes to the positive side of your Ducati ignition coil, which I think was the green wire in Ducati ignition harness, which has 3 wires, lol.

the 2 big nuts on top of your fork are threaded inside except for the top, just drill out the cap and put a bolt in it to mount your tack on.

Here are the instructions that we send with the tachs that we sell. The critical wire is the green wire on the tach that needs to go to the green wire on the Duc harness under the tank.

Tach Installation on Ural Models with Ducati Ignition System

There are four wires coming out of the tach: Red, Blue, Green, and Black. Their purpose is as follows:

· Black is the ground
· Red is a power feed to the tach
· Blue is a power feed to the backlight of the tach
· Green is the feed for the tach to read RPM

Wiring should be done as follows:
1) Attach the Red and Blue wires to a power source that is hot when the key is turned on.
2) Attach the black wire to a grounding point.
3) Attach the green wire to the green wire of the motorcycle wire harness. You will need to trace the wires up out of the timing cover through the plastic connector to find where the green wire of the motorcycle wire harness is located.

NOTE: It is very easy to attach the wires using a “quick splice” connector that pierces the existing wire harness. These can be obtained at any automotive store.

Ok thanks.

I wasn't sure if I had to get inside the ignition module. Now to determine which wire is hot....

You can hook up down at the coil inside the timing cover with the russian ignition.
