30A fused direct to battery power port (2017)

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.

30A fused direct to battery power port (2017)

Postby davek » Fri May 18, 2018 3:13 pm

The schematic for my 2017 GU shows a fused power port to the right of the battery. It may also be on earlier years, but I don't know. Anyway, is this a phantom port that just shows on the schematic or is it real? If it is real, where the heck is it located. Thanks in advance for any replies.

My '17 GU Sahara only has a power port in the sidecar. My schematic shows a power port to the right of the battery, in addition to the one in the sidecar. Your term "phantom port" is perfect.

My 2018 M70 doesn't have the 3rd fused + lead or "phantom port" either.

I think I see a pattern here. Probably just a hiccup in their Engineering Change Notification system :)
