2014 Ural Parts List

Woe unto you that bought the first model year of a major remake, perhaps this section can help address any 2014 and later model Ural "imperfections". Here's a special section for folks with the latest rigs to discuss 2014 and later model-related topics such fuel injection, 3-wheel disc brakes, hydraulic steering dampers, spin-on oil filters and other anomalies that don't belong on true Russsian motorcycle ;-P We've gone from using big hammers and greasy wrenches to needing computers and Ouija boards in order to fix our rigs.
Forum rules
Please keep this section specific to issues pertaining to 2014 and later models such as fuel injection, sidecar and rear disc brakes and so forth. Ask general or non-2014 and later specific questions in the main Hammerin' & Wrenchin' section.

Vince,
Still working on my first 5000 km yet. Gene does the first service for free and Kenny changed the filter at that time. Like I said, I probably won't order as long as Gene has filters in stock. I like to do most of my own work but I'll buy parts from Gene as much as I can. If I end up trying these, I'll let everyone know.
I may not be good, but I'm slow.

Thanks for the info.
I got two of the Bosch D3300 filters from Amazon. They seem to be quite a bit longer than the Mann W 75/3.

Sorry, but I didn't see this in the posts above or in a search.

A friend is bringing her 2015 beast to my place for service on Thursday and needs to get a fuel filter, or at least have one on hand. Can someone post the part number or an equivalent? I didn't see anything in the 2015 OM either.

Thanks!

Have a good one.

Haven't found an equivalent yet. The Ural one is only available through a dealer. The stock ones have no part number markings on them.

Thanks, Darrell.

I appreciate the help.

We might just forego the filter and simply check the flow and the tank filters. After finding my carbie tank filter almost clogged with paint and bug guts and still nothing on the in-line filter after 20,000km, I think she will be okay for another interval.

It looks similar to a NAPA 3032 filter that is used on my Duc, but possibly longer? I'll see if I can get some measurements. I don't have one on the shelf.

Have a good one.

The filter canister part is 2" long. Over all length is 3-3/4".

About 2in O.D.? This could be a good match:

Works great in our Ducs as a non-OE part with 3bar pumps and 10,000mi maintenance intervals for the filter. Our pumps do have a prefilter also.

Have a good one.

That's about 1/3 the cost of one from a dealer. Will definitely use it on my next filter change out.

The stock Ural one is 1-1/2" OD at the rib in the middle. 1-3/8" OD for the rest of the filter housing part.

2" might be a little big.

Sorry, but I don't have a EFI bike to look at. But, looking at the pics in the 2015 OM, it does appear that there is enough room for a slightly larger O.D. filter. Or, am I not seeing something there?

BTW, if you happen to go this route, the filter does not come with Oetiker clamps. You'll need to buy a couple of the appropriate size. The reusable screw-type, fuel-injection clamps work just fine.

Have a good one.

Just had a look at my friend's 2015. The NAPA filter will work with no problem. We're doing the service tomorrow. The original filter is crazy small, esp for the price, but it would be fine for many KMS.

Have a good one.

Here is another Air Filter for 2014:
Microguard 46503 $6.39 (no metal grate on top, is that just "fluff"?)

Another fuel filter option, that I've picked up and will be trying on my '14 G.U.- the Golan Super Mini cleanable filter with 10 micron stainless screen. Not cheap but I like the option to be able to clean it and be back in service right away; I picked up an extra screen to be able to change screens and have a clean screen ready to go. Be advised if you buy one to look inside the filter body before you install; I had some problems with ones where someone in the distribution chain of the online vendors I'd bought it through had filched the filter element from the inside (this happened 2x with two separate online vendors) .... it would not have been good if I had installed it with the assumption that it had the filter element in it, and had unfiltered fuel headed through my fuel injectors....

Clutch cable?

Is there any generic clutch cable that will work for a 2014 gear up or do I need a Ural specific cable?

I'm currency stranded near Asheville, NC. Any suggestions as the the quickest place to get a cable?

It looks like it has two standard ferrules on the ends, except the clutch arm end is installed lengthwise versus the more common transverse direction. The only thing special would be the length of the sheath. So, measure it and call some of the local shops. I wouldn't go any shorter, but an inch or so longer would be okay.

I also remember back in the day, you could buy replacement cable for bicycles. It came without a ferrule on one end. The ferrule was clamped on with a couple set screws. It would be genius if they made these for motorcycles.

Good luck!

My clutch cable frayed out at the levers at about 10,000km. The replacement has been great.

Have a good one.
