Soviet Power Store

Postby Rich Maund » Sat Oct 21, 2017 4:03 pm

Folks
Just wanted to say I made a order with these folks a couple weeks ago.
http://www.soviet-power.com/
Package arrived in just under two weeks in perfect shape and they kept in touch me via e-mail too. Call me a happy customer. They carry some cool stuff there.

About 2 years ago, I ordered some filters from another Russian site. I was totally satisfied with my purchase, shipping time, communications, etc.

Then there was a noticeable volume increase in my email's spam folder, many from folks/gals, claiming to be in Russia. Have never opened or answered any of them....but they continue to come....latest one in this mornings mail box.

Hope all they have acquired is my email address.....makes me a bit leery of using a foreign website for parts again.

I haven't suffered that issue yet. Thankfully AOL has good spam filters. I just ordered a soviet era gas mask. I use modern filters on them as they are handy when I spray paint. I like that many models of them have an inner lip on the eyepieces where you can put lenses. I save lenses from my old bifocals and trim them to fit inside the eye pieces. In this case the respirator was still very supple and had been very well stored. Valves still sealed perfectly too. Just needed a better filter.
Their service and the quick shipping impressed me.

OK! I made an order and sent Maria the proof of pay pal payment. I paid extra for EMS shipping. (I understand its expensive.) Now we'll see how well the order is filled. I'll let you folks on the forum here know how well his store works when it arrives!

Curiously, PayPal won't allow me to complete my order with this company and there's no credit card option. We're you able to successfully order with PayPal, Rich?

You make your order and then they contact you via e-mail with the total to PP to them. Their site doesn't calculate shipping for you. You make the payment and copy and paste the payment message back to their contact person. They look it up to verify it and get back to you telling you when it will ship.
I run a low tech business myself. This how I used to operate even back when my business HAD a web site. So I was OK with it. I'm waiting on my tracking info for now.

I ordered one of these from Ratnik's store. (Guy on You Tube reviewing one) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65xnF-gSr18
I'll bring to the BURP Rally to cook and share. We can try a little Russian food with our Russian sidecars!
