Ural branded jacket

Postby dogboy443 » Mon Apr 16, 2018 1:40 pm

Has anyone had any experience with this kind of jacket? It's not mine and this auction does not belong to me. I just wondered what the sizing is like. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ural-Motorcycl ... 1438.l2649

Odd that they say "all sizes" but don't have a drop down menu to choose one. I'd contact the seller before going further

I would guess you state your size when you make payment or contact the seller separately. Never saw these in UralNE's shop.

Hey DogBoy. My experience with European / Russian clothing has been they run small, usually one size smaller. Hope this helps.

Yes. I have one in my riding closet that is very similar to the jacket linked above.

From the photos, and particularly the CE armor standard, I'd wager that the tailoring is European: slim, with little to no accommodation for a large waist. The American-sized consumer should order one size larger than their regular size, to be sure. Even then, the rider's personal dimensions might still contribute to a snug fit.

I'd recommend buying from Revzilla. Their selection and particularly their return and exchange policies are nonpareil.

Sizes are at the very bottom of the page. But machts nicht, there is only one jacket left, a size Large. Just looking at the taper on the jacket in the photo I'd say it's prolly a no-go for "normal" 'Merican males over the age of 15.

BET IT'S OVERPRICED DUE TO LOGO. Kinda goes more with a sport bike, or Bar hops than practical wear.. You can sew a URAL patch onto anything.
There are some pretty nice "Barbour/Belstaff" w@* COTTON knockoffs available on Ebay (from UK) for around $100. Big pockets, water proof, supportive belted waist, good looking too. The Angled left breast pocket holds a pistol well.
Mentioning this because many young riders don't know about them. The originals are still made but very expensive now. The knock-offs are affordable & a very good value. I've worn out about 3 jackets since I began wearing them when I was 18.
See picture of Steve McQueen wear his at the ISDT International trials competition.

Anyone have the new one being offered by ural? Looks sharp and with 25% off, its not totally unreasonable.

This one?
https://www.imz-ural.com/shop/

I Thought about it, and have seen it in person. It's a really nice jacket comparable to my Barbour International in quality.
I decided to pass on it as it's a short jacket, and I prefer long 3/4 length coats.

+1, The pockets on the longer jacket will spoil you. The hood isn't useful for riding & cold fill up with rain - unless removable.

Check out the British made Barbour/Belstaff copies for around $100. on Ebay - excellent traditional design & affordable.
