Hi 54vintage, which model of lip did you use? I would like to do that to mine as well. Thanks.

Hi, Here's the site I bought it from.

You just have to choose which size works the best for your screen.

Used the Ural to fetch parts for the Jetta 1.8t. Daughter drives it and it's got no heat! Put off changing new thermostat because shop wanted $300. Fnally got a warm spell so I attacked it today, not to bad but they really could have put it in a more convenient spot. Anyway, got heat now :boogie:

Since the snow has melted, I trried to do a quick pusher swap to get my street tire reinstalled.

Unfortunately, I failed to chock the wheels and it rolled forward off of the center stand.
Total rookie move. See what happens when you rush?

Fortunately, I carry the Great Orange Jack of Justice, so it was a (relatively) easy recovery.

Barry, I bought the 14 inch.......the next size up would be way too wide.
I got lucky with the placement of the lip......sort of threw caution to the wind  and stuck it where I thought it would do best.

I learn something from a place I use to work. When we were overhauling something we'd go to the parts cage and give them a part number of what we were working on and they'd give us a covered tray that had all the parts for the job in it so we had everything and were less likely to lose things. We don't need anything that fancy but I buy Stouffer's stuffed peppers (love that stuff) and they are in a plastic tray that I w@$# and save. When I'm work on the bike, or anything, I use these to keep all the parts in one place. I don't lose the small parts much anymore, might lose the whole shooting match but not one part.

I went to the dollar store and bought a bunch of different sized baking pans. Also great for soaking parts.

It was a reluctant sale, but an upcoming relocation required I sell it. It went to a good home and I'm sure the new owner will use it a lot more than I had. I expect that it will provide a lot of enjoyment and good memories for him and his family.

Comparatively boring, but I did my first oil change and replaced the plugs. The fluids all looked pretty good and I didn't find excessive metal, so all is good. Plugs look like it's running a tad rich, but the bike is running well so I'm not going to tinker with it for now.

Brown plugs are O.K., when they turn sooty black after a hard ride, then they're too rich .

Remember to OPEN THOSE GAPS ! . I see so many spark plugs with under .035" gap and it hinders the engine's ability to run properly .
