2014 Patrol

I'm asking $8,700.00.

For full disclosure on the bike, go to viewtopic.php?f=10&t=40679

Hopefully I've sorted through any problems this bike will ever have and it will give some lucky rider years of fun.

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Anyone interested, I just put my bike for sale in the flea market on advrider.com at this link: http://advrider.com/index.php?threads/2014-ural-patrol.1272598/. It's not because I don't like the bike, it's just that I've got too many bills and the note on the Ural is a luxury I just can't afford rig...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

I put my Ural in the shop at AF1 last Saturday for the speedometer to be replaced. I asked them to give the bike a good look-over since it's still under warranty and getting the bike to a shop is a bit of a PITA, as driving in Austin always is. Better for them to make sure all is good now so I won't...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

jwaller, curious have you ever ridden on icy roads, if so how does the Ural behave? :puzzled:  Living in south/central Texas, the conditions in which I rode yesterday was a total anomaly. So far, the only experience I have in riding the Ural in icy conditions were the few bridges I went ove...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

A new speedometer/odometer came in for my bike. I'm going to drop the bike off at AF1 in Austin sometime this afternoon and let them deal with exchanging the old part for the new. Maybe I should have them look into the right head and check to see if it is still making metal filings and if so, to dia...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

So it snowed today. I took my Ural to work instead of a Triumph for the security of the third wheel even though the odometer hasn’t been fixed yet. At a point about two miles from home, I look at the speedometer and it’s spinning round and round the dial. I stopped for gas and the speedometer stoppe...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

You list a couple of Triumphs there in the signature line...do you ride those often? Maybe they would sell and you can keep the Ural and pay off the repairs to the house. Good luck. Ride them all the time, when not on the Ural. As fast as I'm putting the miles on the Ural, I guarantee I ride my Tri...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Once the warranty has expired, I'm really thinking of selling my Ural. It's got 8 months left on the warranty at this point. Maybe I should start trying to sell it now. I had some other issues come up with my house and now I won't be able to afford to fix anything that breaks on this thing, and you ...

Re: What did you do to your Ural today?

Put new brake pads on the front brake today. I went SUPER CHEAP. I got pads on Amazon, two sets, for $11.99. I know, stupid, but I've owned two KLR650's. You know I've got to be a tightwad.

But, giving the bike a quick shake down, the bike is stopping at least as well as it was before, actually better. I don't expect these pads will last too long. But there's two...

Re: My Ural (Mis?)Adventure, so far.......

Getting close to 33,333 km and suddenly the odometer just fell out of its housing. Guess I get to set the mileage back. Anyone want a zero km Ural for about $9,000.00? Image

Smart car and a stupid bike? My bike takes up more parking space than the car. It’s got a longer wheelbase.

Re: Gear box blues.

I had a bent shift fork and had a bit of a problem in third gear and then the most horrendous sound you can imagine in fourth gear. I tried fixing it myself as there was no dealership close by but wasn’t able to totally fix the problem. I eventually got the bike to a dealership and had it fixed unde...
